We already started with a surprise if we can call it like that.Netherlands which in theory is a better team than Turkey lost 4-2 in Turkey tonight.I thought Turkey could get a draw but I never thought they could win the game against a team like the Netherlands.It is only the first game to the qualifying campaign for the World Cup but as they say every little point helps and today Netherlands lost 3 very valuable points.

Turkey are off to a flying start. The Netherlands were favourite to win the game but Turkey won and will try to build on that win as the competition progresses.

And the results were also not surprising. Netherlands lost by a big margin. They are in a group along with Norway. Now there is a real chance that Netherlands will fail to qualify for the 2022 tournament, while Turkey and Norway will progress to the next stage.

The wins of turkey over the Netherlands and of Slovenia over croatia were probably the biggest surprises of this matchday. Also France only managing to achieve a draw against the ukraine is also very surprising given the fact that france was completely dominant and ukraine didn't have a real goal chance during the whole game. Therefore france had to score an owngoal to make it a draw. Still france should have no problem to through in their group because ukraine was already their hardest opponent.

Azerbaijan is not a bad team and for Portugal most of their players seems to be out of form (with the exception of Anthony Lopes). Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to score a goal for 5 consecutive games now. Anyway, in the end Portugal received three valuable points from this match (thanks to a generous own goal from Maksim Medvedev). The Azerbaijan goalkeeper(Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev) was very impressive.

BTW, here is one funny moment from yesterday's match (Joao Moutinho vs Ali Ghorbani).

Giroud won them a lot recently but maybe now time for Griezmann to step up as he did last night.

Griezmann scored but Giroud did not, he had two good chances and he should have done better. Instead of France cruising to victory it allowed Ukraine to get back in to the game. If Giroud can bring his Chelsea form to the France national team then I think he will have a successful qualifying campaign otherwise he might find himself out of the squad with other younger players lining up to replace him especially after the display yesterday.

I thik France, Portugal,Corotia will surprised us.

It is far too early to make comparisons and say that this will be the time for Turkey to shine but we will be looking at them as they compete throughout the qualifying stages.

It was an unexpected result for me, too. France was lucky twice and once not. They scored from offside, if you rewatched the moment, you could see the offside and the moment where there was a hand and they should have received a penalty. I think that they will continue to win, but the fact that they lost points in this match is already a fact. We need to think about the next games.

This is one time that football takes a whole new level. With every nation backing there nation and the nations other nations with the hope that they eliminate likely opponents that won't give there nations much chance to advance i the league, lol.

The international breaks is really boring but, world Cup is just the singular international sporting activity that can't be over emphasised or people being so over zealous about. For me Netherlands losing isn't a surprise, because they were already out of 2018's world cup.

Spain had an average performance last world cup, nothing too impressive, losing to Russia on penalties at final of octaves, and it seems they didn't recover totally by watching the last game's result above. A draw with Greece isn't very cheerful.

On the other hand England looks aggressive, Italy thirsty for redemption after also being out from 2018's world cup and Germany trying to recover its status after the 2018's fiasco. These are giants which can come very strong for Qatar 2022. But I would like to see more surprises like Croatia and Belgium last time.

Yes, I saw how that worked out but I guess I was only saying how Giroud carried both Chelsea and especially France in the earlier rounds of Qualifying and in the last Nations League he contributed more than others at many points. But anyway what a terrible turnaround from winning 7-1 on the last time they met.

Spain turns out to be the latest disappointment too in the end last night. But good I avoided betting on them anyway, the odds were really not special.

A good result for the English side, it was a night to remember for Chelsea stars, they contributed 85% to the goals.This is the only place the lion roars, a team full of world-class players but hit below par everytime you put them up on the betslip. The English side is not among my top 5 team. Congratulations to Watkins; first call up, first goal. My EPL young star of the season for me

A good result against a compact and difficult side to play but I don't still trust this Germany side, they are having a bad times.
