What happened: A scam that is been making the rounds on Discord. You are eligible for a prize in ETH that you get when you register and claim on their site (something around 13 ETH but it waries), but upon withdrawals, you are asked to first send 0.01 BTC or the equivalent in ETH or USD.

Also, there is a Reddit thread on this topic from a couple of days ago where you can get more info on it.

I checked the website and I have to commend the fact that they really look like a really legitimate website because they have put some effort in making the website, I can't confirm that it is a scam but I am leaning towards, I checked their About Us and I don't find any teams behind the website or the operation so maybe it really is a scam, congrats OP nice catch.

What happens to the scammers?  Grin Have they become impoverished in their fantasies? Yesterday's topic is completely identical to yours.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5326208.0

Just see things realistically. How much is 13 ETH worth? Why do these kinds of giveaways? I'm probably a big skeptic, but I don't believe in such "gifts". And the one who believes in such "gifts" must grow up either on someone else's experience and if he does not believe in other people's mistakes, then he will have to learn from his mistakes.
Once again, never believe in these kinds of giveaways.
Just look at the date the site was created.
