I'm looking for a fully open-source crypto portfolio tracker but I just can't seem to find any reasonable one. Most trackers out there are on GitHub but have no reputable history behind and since I'm not a coder, best thing I can do is just rely on what other coders say..

I find it weird to give a closed-source software information about how many coins I own, when I purchased them and so on. I feel like this isn't an information to share with a 3rd party.

Do you know any open-source tracker that I can use?

Yes, there is Rotki[1]. I've seen a lot of people talk about it on Reddit. I haven't used it myself but looking at how active their repository[2] looks, I would say it's good. The only downside I can see is the UI. It's not as attractive as some other portfolio trackers.

I developed one - Coinwatcher

But it has very basic functionality, and it's not transaction based like other portfolios, you simply put how many coins you own, and it will be telling how much they are worth right now, individually and together. It shows the recent price changes, supports displaying prices in over 50 currencies, and your personal data is stored in your local storage.

Do portfolio trackers need to be open source or closed source? Why aiming for such since you won't be keeping your assets on trackers anyways like crypto wallets? What am I missing here people?

Try out Openclerk - http://openclerk.org, they have a free version via - https://cryptfolio.com

TheWARden is majorly Bitcoin focused - http://www.thewarden.io

cryptopricewidget - https://cryptopricewidget.com - https://github.com/nathanp/crypto-price-widget

Be ready to take sometime to install some apps as it's not direct. Sometimes you may need to first install dependencies  Wink It's the cost of privacy, right?

I think yes, even portfolio or tracker, if they are have ability to see our data, maybe we are not safe enough. open source tracker also makes we are more believe in the code/program of that aplikation will not harm our data .

1. Bitcoiners in general mostly seem to be privacy conscious (which is a GREAT thing); it's a safe assumption that most portfolio trackers monetize through their user's data.
2. Some people like to tinker through the code and make modifications

Rotki have Premium Version and you need to create account to use it. i don't think you can trust them with your data. https://rotki.com/products/

try https://github.com/applebaum/open-cryptofolio they have basic version. All of the data is handled on client-side and nothing is sent to server.
you can review the code to check about these claims.

Well, maybe not with the premium version but since OP is looking for an open-source project, I'm assuming he has the required technical knowledge to both verify the code and compile it himself.
