WANT INFO on Magical Crypto Conference coin set

I’ve seen a couple sets of four coins for the magical crypto friends, but I can’t find any more information about it online.

Information I’m looking for things like how many were made? What is the composition of the physical coin? What is the enclosed MCC token all about? And just any information about them generally.

I can give a small bit of merit to anyone who can point me in the right direction. Judging by the lack of information online, I would venture to say that they weren’t very popular, but I think that they are awesome looking, and I am glad that I have a set!

There were 300 sets produced, for a total of 1200 coins.

The coins are silver plated base metal.

Each coin has 1 MCC token loaded on... for fun

In case you haven't found the information you were looking for (but it's been a while so you probably have), I think you'd need to install Blockstream's Green Wallet or set up a Liquid node to redeem these tokens. Have you tried to ask in the Blockstream telegram channel?

I actually thing the opposite.  The fact barely any come up for sale means the original owners like them, don't want to part with them, etc.  I think because they were meant as a promotion/one off, there wasn't much public knowledge of these amongst casual collectors.

Not well received?! I vote for these as the third most 'fun' physical bitcoins out there behind Ci's Dogecoins and the Anarcoins with the meme of Jean Luc Picard.

I suppose the loaded mcc bothers people. However, with only 300 made (of each four types), given out at a conference, this is a pretty scarce collectible. It's not practical to make mintages this nice of only 300 coins, which is great for collectors.

Maybe the MCC characters will pop up in some blockchain game and raise the value of these.

Seems like that would be the main reason to buy them for me.  I didn't purchase one because they aren't solid silver and I don't want to bother storing coins that aren't at least that, but the idea, design, complimentary products/packaging...  All look great.  If the liquid network is ever stabilized and used by people maybe these tokens will be worth something in the future as collectibles. 

Now that Fluffypony is an infamous international criminal I would think they are probably sought after by a whole new crowd of collectors.  I just wish they were .999 silver...

The coins were not given out.. they were sold.
And a decent amount of the coins were never made available, making them even rarer
