will try to pick several outrights as well, during first few weeks, cannot see who will win this season, but eventually from five teams, should at least pick one finalist

Yeah! Sportsbet has a boost on each sport every 24 hours, so I use them all the time for football, tennis, even F1, baseball like MLB when putting on early outrights if the markets come out early. Like during the World Cup, I made 4 or 5 outrights, and scored a big hit on Argentina (boosted to almost 10/1 and regular was below 8, and when tournament started, only 6/1).

Didnt know about this, probably because I only bet on soccer most of time in sportsbet and esports on another site so I wouldnt even know that we get a boost based on different sports. I thought it was once a day or something so when I used my boost on soccer

As you can see, it's a modest percentage boost of around 7-10%, which doesn't make a difference for regular odds (but still useful for longshot)... but a huge difference in heavy odds, like outrights .

Well yeah its huge on outright bets for sure. I might try few for now, I guess that would hurt if I just put $5 each or something on every bet so that would be $50 if I get 10 of them so no biggie

H2h statistics shows Houston won 4 times against Chicago White Sox for the last 5 games so I picked that one up but I kinda regretting my bet on Los Angeles Angels as I have just noticed that they have quite a number of injuries (?) so that could affect them I think

Anyway, this one turned out as I suspected it to be yikes. Oakland ended up winning

I mean anything can happen but those red sox teams had competitive teams.  Their team just isn't that good.  Over 162 game season they get exposed.  Their pitching staff is mid and their lineup is meh.  And they just lost Xander bogart.  The AL East is too stacked this year.  Yankees got a little better and Toronto and rays should be real good too.  Sox and orioles will be fighting for basement rights.  And as a yankees fan couldn't be more happy about it 😀

Placed higher stake on this and will gradually lower the stake as I choose another option with higher odds. Probably will bet a total of around $100 or something on all these outright bets though

Well, they also had really good teams who didn't win it for decades, and not that I know very well, but I don't think the top favourite of each season I've looked at has won it. That means no Astros?

Yeah, fire and forget. If you lose it, it's forgotten by the end of season anyway. If you win it, nice bonus to end the season (that's how I always see these outrights!).

We return a year later, again Houston!  although still in the playoffs,  only four sets of paperwork to get to the World Series again (sorry if you're a NY fan) although he's barely one ahead and tonight he's probably leading 2-0.

Unpopular ... where?
Come on, there are sports that only need fans and in the United States there are them for any type of sport, whether the rest of the world follows them or not, they really don't care.

In particular, MLB Baseball is a special, rare, nostalgic, family, generational sport, it must be that unique sport where sometimes you follow it because yes, even if you don't like it ... but something in your childhood due to influence " familiar "or" moment "leads you to follow a certain team.

I have to say that definitely betting 6 months in advance is the best example of the difference between fan and gambler.

Well, here we are for the third consecutive season. 

I also took the Orioles to win, but mine is for the entire series @1.96. The Orioles probably won't mind if the Rangers keep their momentum rolling after their WC win against the Rays since they tend to thrive under pressure.

And for the other side of the bracket, I might add the Dodgers tomorrow once my price boost refreshes and i'm staying away from the Braves vs. Phillies when there's a possibility for an upset.

Well I had my hopes after 6 months  . Too bad huh, I didnt even bother to check MLB at all after I placed this bet lol. For some reason, today I checked on this thread and decided to check the results for Houston Astros only to find that they have lost after getting into semifinals. Well not too bad for me I guess, my first experience placing outright bet on a sport that I barely knew about

The Astros couldn't win American League, they fell by the wayside, I was comfortable with Los Angeles, Atlanta, nothing, and! now I have the Phillies left, by default, lol.
Anyway, a final without the "emotion" of some of my favorites, but it is world series, always regardless of the teams, there are 4 good games to watch, and with the idea of ​​watching a seventh game that is decided in the 9th inning, 2 outs, bases loaded...

So, as said the above; something from my losing streak, in-play:

Im going with different approach for this then, picking Arizona Diamondbacks to win just because Im abit salty with Texas Rangers after they knocked out Houston Astros . Well Im not really following anything about these two teams but this could be a 50:50 game between these two so I took Arizona mainly because the odds are just higher lol

I think that as I mentioned before, you just have to enjoy the bet from the point of view of the probabilities, so already beaten in the Playoffs as a fan of my favorite teams, now it is better, and after several clicks at @1.55 and @2.34 (my indecisions below) I'm going to play it safe and go game by game.

So, for Friday's game and since we are close to Halloween I'm going to Texas Rangers, but because the gods of probability dictate it that way.

I noticed that today's MOTD would be the Diamondbacks vs Rangers and caught the markets with only a few minutes left before it gets taken down.

I had to back the Diamondbacks here as they field Pfaadt, who looked impressive during his start against the Phillies. Hopefully, the over won't ruin the ticket as this series might be due for an under after going over in the last two matches.
