There is no relationship between Bitcoin and Steem. Steem is a cryptocurrency of the Steemit platform, used to reward people with sort of "likes", like with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It's just that you can trade Steem for Bitcoin and vice versa, like how you can trade Bitcoin <-> Ethereum, and Bitcoin <-> Litecoin, etc.

If I may add, you can earn Steem through their blogging platform, Steemit. You can create content and publish and hopefully you will be rewarded.

And then you can exchange your Steem to Bitcoin. As for trading Steem to Bitcoin, just use exchanges that list Steem and you are good to go.

Steem is an altcoin created by dan larimer and his team, this coin doesn't have any correlation with bitcoin. I think that you can try to use your search engine to get more information about the history of steem and bitcoin.
Bitcoin is not the same as another altcoin.
Steem can be used to trade for bitcoin with the help of an exchange site that makes it happen.

I think that this is basic knowledge and it seems like you didn't have a lot of knowledge about this. The exchange site is also 3rd party that acts just like a broker.

Steem is paired with BTC STEEM/BTC like in Binance, Bittrex, and Huobi Global exchange, I guess is their relationship which you can exchange your Steem to BTC.

The history of this project is just not good that holders were trying to dump it during the bear market and then got forked for because of the divided consensus. The price is going up though.

Altcoin was forking from the bitcoin and I can say that fork coin of bitcoin was altcoin.

Steem is a new project that was working on the different field and it's having different mechanism, consensus, and many more. Bitcoin created by satoshi nakamoto and it never being affiliated with any other crypto since bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency in the world.

Just to be clear to the OP, Bitcoin and Steem has no relationship whatsoever. They do not have any business deals or whatsoever so please do not be confused. Steem I think is struggling a bit since they want to be high up in the cryptocurrency and social media spectrum that they have done many things to better their website and their services. I thikn there is still a good following on this coin and I do hope that many will also use social media using the steem platform.

The word came from "Esteem" as far as I can remember. It was supposed to be a blogging platform which would reward the bloggers to post content and depending on how much upvotes the stuff accumulated, they would be getting a payout. It ended up being a circle jerk for some users who promoted their content with paid higher ups and so on. This type of a blogging site could have been much bigger but they had to go towards to nepotistic type favoritism gradually.

Never heard of "Steen" But keeping to your post, Steem is an Altcoin along with SBD which you need to cash out steem - something like that, I am not completely sure of how SBD and Steem are used.
