I'm looking for chat room for altcoins or cryptocurrency in general


chat a regular chat room like in he old days, you put user names, thats it!

NO DISCORD, TELEGRAM OR ANY OF THAT, they all have too many restrictions, and  you have to register and bla bla, and you have to be member for certain amount of time, or know somebody,, etc etc

So what exactly you want? Those platform you mentioned are the main platform for crypto discussion group nowadays. There's no restrictions at those platforms unless you're spamming or scamming.

I don't know if you are mentioning mirc or what. If you have big disagreement of useful platforms like discord or telegram, why don't you create one and show us here? Maybe something like a decentralized chat platform.

most groups are bitcoin, you can't talk about altcoin or you get kicked out
you also have to be enabled by the administrator in order to engage in a conversation
in most you have to be invited in order to join the group, if you click in JOIN GROUP, you have to wait for administrator to approve you
you cannot also click on any user name and engage to talk freely, because the username blocks everybody for X reason..

YES!! something like IRC,, in a world of WHO GIVES A fV#&%, and you can talk freely about whatever topic you want, of course as long as you dont spam or anything.. Discord, Telegram, too many restrictions,,, thats not freedom!

IRC is not yet completely dead right? If you are looking for a certain vibe, freedom, or something like that which you find with IRC, and which you won't be having with the likes of discord, telegram, etc, then why don't you use the good old IRC today? It is still out there.

I agree that there are so many restrictions with telegram and others. But I bet that removing much of those restrictions would make them a cesspool of spammers and scammers.

I did check on IRC, the problem is that, not so many users, and the content is not very useful, in other word not many knowledge people, and again most is BITCOIN and not Altcoins...

I really don't understand if Bitcoin and Altcoin is all about freedom,
why not create something like IRC about crypto only,
the spam on IRC was easily moderated and in most rooms you couldn't post more than 5 or 10 lines continusly....
 just like everybody wants freedom to transact with money, we all should be able to talk freely about money

my brothers are farmers, and got into crypto like me, and they are young, 25, 34... but they don't have community to talk with, and we dont know about discord or telegram, and we don't want to start hitting our heads in learning how to use them, is too much asking for someone that spends all day  farming in the fields....we just want to type username, and start chatting, yes like IRC

Maybe this is what you're looking for? on coinmarketcap, they had it. Before it was different becayse they have it for every coin and it has been so long since I have checked it, check it for your own.

I guess that your choice can not be fulfilled. People nowadays are used to social media and online chat requiring register before joining.  Telegram is a good source for many people and it only requires you phone number. Why not just make one account? Only few steps and then boom, you have your own account. Or you can stay in bitcointalk lol

Better to make a new group/server on telegram/discord and start inviting those friends who are willing to share their experience with others. BTW, it's true that some chat rooms are having strict rules , but many of those chat rooms are still free to use without any restriction if anyone don't shill any projects or links. Just making simple conversation with others about bitcoin or altcoins or go for any local chat rooms.

That's right, nowadays everyone is familiar with all media that are easy to use, so there is no need to make too many of the same things, which is also more difficult to manage, so focusing on just one thing will also be very good so others will also find it easier to find what we have to say.

I too sometimes feel it's something we miss. A chat room with like minded crypto enthusiasts.
I have used many not so specific chat rooms available when I'm in need of knowing something or just spreading happiness and experience.
You may find me chatting randomly in chat rooms of gambling sites, microwallets and even in Youtube live videos about crypto.

Not sure but maybe IRC still relevant if you looking something like that? Beside that there is only some forum with "Real" Freedom, 4chan is the only answer since you can say what the f*k you want, Also maybe you can try check this one, https://matrix.org/ based on Blokchain Technology even though i never try it but maybe you can check it.

Does this chat room you want still even exist these days? Even using this forum requires a username and password. And even if you find one, do you think there are people that are crypto enthusiasts there? What's so difficult of creating those account you've mentioned? Those group or chat rooms in discord and telegrams are a big help as a crypto investor. It helped me analyzed not just what coin to invest in but also to trade. You don't need somebody or pay a certain amount to enter one of those groups.

I cannot think of any other options for chatting like IRC nowadays. I guess you guys will have to somehow keep up and find yourself comfortable with the likes of Discord and Telegram. If you feel like you are too restricted on certain channels, you can always privately message certain individuals for some questions.

There is also this forum if you wish to raise certain questions. There is also Reddit.
