Sent Token to Binance ERC20 Wallet

Hey,

So someone sent me Lattice: LTX Token (LTX) on my Binance ETH (ERC20) Wallet Address


Is there any possible way of recovering this?
As It got deposited in Exchange, I don't have the passphrase or backup key.

What solutions are possible? Kindly help me out.

You have answered your own question, if you didn't have access into the wallet just like private key or passphrase and you will never able to access it. What you can do waiting for the LTX to be listed on binance and im sure it will be credited into your account but no ETA about when this will be happening maybe a few years later.

Since it's an exchange you may contact their support of you can provide the email address and other information you may be granted access to you account.

I completely understand that part however If they can somehow send that amount to my ETH Address (non-exchange) manually, that would be awesome.

Since it's an exchange you may contact their support of you can provide the email address and other information you may be granted access to you account.

I already contacted them however their support is not something you can rely on.

It's all depend on binance exchange policy. But unfortunately, most exchanges doesn't provide such way to recover wrong token deposit. Maybe you'll have a chance if ltx are being tradable on binance, but as you know it's not listed there.
Furthermore, there's no harm to try contacting support.

LTX Token (LTX) is not listed on Binance^[1] which means that support team needs to access the private key and try to send those coins manually.
If you are lucky, they will refund the money to the person who sent it, but often they give a warning such as "Sending any other tokens means you lost it"
In general, make sure that your friend has the private key for the wallet he is sending from, and contact the support team

I'm not sure binance team can help you out on this one cos the token isn't that much but I'm not going to judge too quickly, try contacting binance team on telegram or write them, they might actually help you out because it's binance, they care more about their customers

I already contacted them however their support is not something you can rely on.

Their support team are probably handling thousands of tickets per day. Even if you create one, it will be the least of their priority.

You can try and tweet to CZ though but given how small the amount is, he'll probably ignore it. The fees for transferring erc-20 tokens is already half the value of your LTX.

If you do not have access related to that wallet, then the right of access to the wallet is also lost, it can be said that there is almost no way to open your wallet without your private key or passphrase.
So far the LTX TOKEN has not been listed on Binance, So I'm not sure Binance can solve your problem. The only way you can get LTX back are to wait until the LTX token is listed on binance, and I believe LTX will be credited directly to your account.

Lol, this is why we should always cross check the wallet address we give out the friends to make sure they aren't the wrong one, this would have been easily avoided if only you cross checked your address before giving it out.

But anyways it has happened and I think the only thing to do now is contact binance support which I don't think they will be willing to help since the token is not listed on their exchange, but I still suggest you do this any way.

The second thing you can do is wait for binance to list LTX token, hopefully when they do, your tokens will be credited to you wallet if you are lucky.

The third thing you can do is to just forget about the token, consider them lost cus if binance support does not help you, and the token does not get listed on binance while you are still alive, then you aren't ever gonna get it back, so better to just forget about them is the first and second does not help you get your tokens back.

There is nothing you can do, which means you have lost your token, they will not send LTX back to your wallet because it is not their responsibility for your mistake just forget your token, sorry to say this.

If he doesn't have the backup key or passphrass to get bacck into the Binance account if I understand the post, I doubt if at all he would be able to log into the account even lets say the token was eventually listed for him to be able to trade it or withdraw it.

Do you mean the BEP 20 Wallet or what? Since its sent to an exchange, you don't have the private keys, mate. You only have private keys to your personal wallets

maybe that is what the wrongdoer could do by sending a token that is not in binance. wait until the token is registered on binance as the colleague said above, but the problem is whether it will be the same wallet that was sent when it was registered on binance.

I think if it has been wrongly addressed and there is no medicine that can solve it, because this error is an absolute mistake and should not be ignored because it is clear that it will no longer be able to be displayed or helped to return. better forget it and focus on other bounty jobs hoping to receive even better replacements.

agree on this, you can contact the exchange, but they will probably turn-you-down, or ask for a fee that is higher that the value of Lattice tokens that are on your address
not even sure will this turn on your Binance account, if they list LTX, since they deploy smart contracts for deposits and withdrawals, and those could miss earlier payments

it is a complicated process for an exchange, they would have to deal with private keys for your wallet, and that is a costly and in-secure procedure, that is why they will probably miss on a help

I think this sad story already happened to many people and at the end of the day it is the responsibility of the user to make sure that everything is done according to the letter. Personally, I actually triple check everything before I press the SEND button because I hate to go into the hassle of dealing with anybody's support. Binance has not failed to give us warning or notice to make sure we are doing things right. This is one of the many hazards in dealing with cryptocurrency, and we have to accept it.

Nah, He send his token to his ETH(ERC20) address on binance ans since its still not listed there. The balance is currently stock on the binance centralized wallet and the OP is well aware that exchange don't have private key.

@OP, Just wait for LTX to list on binance. I'm it will list there soon. Binance provide a warning message before you copy the wallet address. I'm they will not entertain this kind query considering the amount of pending ticket they got daily.

So someone else sent the lattice token to your Binance ETH address? How did this happen, did you put in the wrong address in an airdrop or bounty campaign or something?
If yes than you can't do anything than to contact Binance and ask them to send them your tokens back, which honestly i don't think that will happen because erc 20 token transfers are pretty expensive at the moment.

If someone has sent the LTX from your own ETH address to Binance than the problem is even bigger because some stranger has now control of your ETH address, but i think and hope that didn't happen.

I am sorry but I have to say it is probably gone unless binance helps you. Obvious choice is that you could contact binance and they could help you out and that would be the only good possible outcome of this. However, if you are not capable of contacting them or if they are not helping you with it, that means that money is gone and you can't get paid.

If you want to avoid something like this to ever happen, try to use addresses that you are 100% certain about it, if it is definitely yours and you have access to it then you can share it. Not like someone else knew your address without you giving it to them, they must have found your address somehow and if that means you gave it to them which is the most probable outcome, there is nothing they did wrong, and nothing binance did wrong, it is all on you for giving a wrong address and that is why I do not think that it should be that hard for you to accept this loss because it is your own mistake.

It depends on binance exchange. If they haven't list the token yet, then unfortunately your token won't be displayed on your exchange wallet.
Someone might be mistakenly sent the token to your address and it wasn't your token, so it is not your loss.
Even if it is recoverable, i don't think $48 is worth because the gas fee of transferring erc20 token is very high.
