Hah yeah, that is a know scam approach that unfortunately works quite good if scammer plays the long game and works on his victim for a few weeks. By then fool falls in love  and is willing to do pretty much anything. "Pretty ladies" contacted me many times on Telegram, trying to do the same thing. Usually I just block them immediately after the first message (rule of thumb on Telegram is if anyone sends you unsolicited PM, its a scam) but few times i went along to see how long will it take them.

Usually they try scam you the same day, but once or twice they were very patient, chatting with me for a week, before they steered the conversation towards "incredible investment opportunities. One of them even used her real picture, as I asked her to send selfie holding piece of paper with the current date written, before I deposited BTC and she actually did that.

Similar techniques existed long before cryptocurrencies, and with crypto it became much easier to scam. Recently I heard about the case in Croatia where some woman went to the bank to deposit 2,000 EURO to her "fiance" from South Africa (iirc), and when bank clerk asked her to give her the name of her fiance she said "let me check Facebook". Bank clerk was suspicious that she doesn't even know her "fiance" name by heart, started asking questions etc and it turned out to be a scam.

I would say that all dating sites that someone diligently advertises, offers to invest, and talks about great benefits, etc., are mostly fraudulent.
Do not trust strangers, beautiful young ladies who smile friendly and promise you a good acquaintance and benefit. Ask yourself the question, what is more dear to you, your money, which you earned so diligently, or the beautiful girl behind the monitor, whom you do not know at all, intending to trust her?
Appreciate your work, try to find out as much information as possible about the site, do not stop at one source. Only after that, make any conclusions on investments, and after making a decision, rely only on yourself. Having entrusted your money to scammers on the Internet, unfortunately, you will not be able to return it.

Those scammers are everywhere, I got contacted on telegram almost every three days or more by good looking young men or ladies that makes me wanna do things for them, telling me to make deposits on websites I've never heard about, if you aren't foolish and greedy you will instantly know what they are up to

I experience those just using a social media you can see on the comment section scammers encourage to make people investment with the name of the bitcoin and sending a proof of withdrawal but if you don't know by that for sure you will caught. As early as possible avoid those banners telling they can double your money it's already an old song.

Women offering bitcoin I don't think so women focusing on cryptocurrency but I don't say no woman invest in crypto.

It is good that you should always be aware of everything you do and making decisions if what will happen if you decide this and that. Trusting strangers that you know online won't help at all. I have experienced receiving many claims on telegram that you can earn money but never did they know that they can't get a single money from me as their offer sounds good to be true.

This isn't really exclusive to dating apps, scammers are active on all social networks and messenger platforms. You can simply take as a rule of thumb that if an unknown person approaches you and it has something to do with money, and you have to send them or somewhere else your money, then it's 100% a scam. It's actually a common sense, but unfortunately a lot of people don't have it and easily trust strangers with their hard-earned money.

Never heard that they can exploit money through dating app? I've known tinder as it is a famous social dating app but never imagine that scammer can use that for what? Use a good profile and chat someone whom have crypto and try to scam or trick the one that will swipe and talk you out of a crypto money. This is a shallow type of scamming if ever.

Social media is the target of scammers, but dating sites is never left out, I have heard cases of scammers getting clients from dating sites. Although, the dating sites have ways of knowing someone that want to scam and block some (but not all as some scammers are smarter), but this makes scammers to have many more of the dating sites to look for suitable ones that victims can be. Dating site is one for the potential means scammers do scam. Assuming if you are a man, they will pose as a beautiful young lady. And, if you are a woman, they will pose as a handsome man. Scammers have there tactics to lure their victims, getting anothers means to chat better, make the victim to trust them, and ask money from them later in few days. This is just very real and happening.

First installing those unimportant and unsafe apps is the wrong move to protect your privacy and any sensitive data, you can also read this apps exploit their users information [1]

Emotional and physiological involved in love it's the main reason why someone got scammed, it's not only about crypto itself... money, relationship, etc can be involved though. I didn't recommend dating apps if you want to looking for serious relationship, because mostly those aren't real girl, attitude, etc the worst case she can cheat with his real boyfriend behind you.

There are thousands of scamers outside this forum whose tricks they do, from offering crypto / fiat for free and so on.

In my opinion, if they are not involved in this forum openly do harm to others, let it be, because fraud is not moderated.

Well, if the application that you mean scamer and they blatantly deceive other people in this forum, give strong evidence of their behavior as a scamer, create a topic in the reputation accusation section, DT will act against them and mark as a scamer.

People are to be blame if a stranger comes into your life for no reason sake and scam you most especially online, how does this sound right to you in the first place? Well common sense is not really common I guess, I always hear about online romance scams people sending money to people miles away in the name of dating or love, there is nothing more foolish than this.

I appreciate that you have spoken out for it here and it might help a noob to not lose funds while they are drooling and seeing dreams a long with drooling that they are going to make big money and life will be changed. I have seen such scammers mostly on telegram, but their range has increased now, they are also seen on Quora, Medium along with other social medias.

I’d have though that the main shocker was to get to see who was really on the other end of the dating site’s profile …

It doesn’t matter on what social media platform you’re on, these things happen and people will keep on falling for it out of a lack of knowledge on the matter (to say the least, and provide a benevolent explanation). Those dating sites make it easier for sweet words to open ones pockets out to whatever crypto scam or else they lure you with.

Things shouldn't be this way, not atleast when there are hundreds of scam cases around the world and mostly in the US about romance scams, there are adverts about online scammers pretending to be real but using fake pictures to deceive people, it seems some people don't just want to learn or they just want to be fooled probably because they are too lonely or everyone around them rejects them

Thanks for sharing the news but to beginning with a stranger providing a life changing investment opportunity is definitely a scam and what I don't believe is how would a stranger gave advice and people will follow it. Besides, this reminds me of a live video I watch yesterday on Instagram where the host took false classes to make people rich and anyone that believes in all this has lost his investment before he invests.

Even these dating apps are getting attacked by cryptocurrency scammers, what a shame on them.

They will really do anything just to fool people and earn easy money from newbies or ignorant people.

They are taking advantage of an uneducated person to become their victim.

We all know that cryptocurrency is so complex that people are getting confused about it and they don't know how to manage, or work on it properly.

Never heard that they can exploit money through dating app? I've known tinder as it is a famous social dating app but never imagine that scammer can use that for what?
It's known as a "romance scam" or "love scam". You can google it and you will find plenty of sources talking about it. It's not new, scammers have only advanced their tactics by asking payments be made in cryptocurrencies instead of fiat because they are harder to track.

Widowers and middle-aged women are often the targets of such scams. Boy-toys approach them via dating sites trying to win them over with their charm. The aim is to gain their trust, have them fall in love, and exploit their feelings to profit from it. They do that in various ways. Some pretend they have a private business and are in debt. The COVID pandemic is a great cover to use right now. If they don't come up with a few grand soon, they'll have to close their business and sob stories like that. Others ask for money to fly out and visit you or pay their taxes... The victims who are now in love believe everything they say and many of them send money and are ready to do anything.

A few years ago there was a story about a local guy from my country who used similar techniques to exploit over $40.000 AUD from a business-woman from Australia. She believed everything he said and invested in his "business". She never saw her money or him again.
