 Hey guys, I was wondering on how do you fund your Gambling Account if we currently have high fees on ERC20 and Bitcoin?
As I can't even touch my own wallet due to this, even if I want to spend fiat in exchange of eth to funds my gas its not worth it as I'm doing 2 transactions and it would cost me ~100$ just to fund my wallet..., I'm currently playing at mwplay88.com where money on my country is the only being accepted (currently) so I can still play slots but only with fiat.

Can you share how you do during this time? And what advise you can tell me about so I can still play?

Just for you to know my funds are on Metmask and of happen to buy and transfer from an exchange this would be the fees (its fixed) (I'll be paying fees for swap, transaction fees and another transaction fee to transfer on Gambling Platform)

First of all, if you are using a bitcoin wallet, you can still edit the fee. In this case, I will recommend you a wallet like electrum, make sure you enable replace-by-fee. You can use like 11 sat/vbyte and see if the transaction will be long or not. But 10 sat/vbyte will easily get bitcoin transaction confirmed on Sundays. Try to make us of weekends for such low transaction fee, but using like 20 sat/vbyte will still get transactions confirmed during the weekdays, and it is a small feerate that will require lower amount of bitcoin as fee. But using custodial service like exchanges will be very high in fee, which should not be used.

I do not know much about ethereum, maybe there are good wallets that support ethereum that has replace-by-fee, and also considering weekends for lower fee.

You can also make use of other altcoins like litecoin that have low transaction fee generally.

Litecoin has its own independent (although copied bitcoin) blockchain, and transaction fee is very low.

I will use even custodial service as an example because they charge high amount of fee, and yet litecoin fee is still low on such platforms. Binance charges 0.001 LTC as fee for litecoin transactions, this will let you assume how much lower it will be on noncustodial wallets. Also you have no problem to withdraw it on the gambling sites that you are using as litecoin fee is low generally.

$0.224 is a very low fee, even on a custodial exchange that have high fee. This will still be much more lower on noncustododial wallets.

Ya, if you really don't have ETH in your wallet, I think you have no choice except buying ETH somewhere and send it to your wallet, or keep it there forever   A few weeks ago, I sold several altcoins as they became valuable, I've encountered your case, the worst thing I have to do is buying ETH from an exchange. It's quite expensive there, besides, I have to pay extra for withdrawal fee. Transfer ETH back to my wallet and I have to pay a small fee to send the altcoin. After selling altcoin, I had to withdraw ETH to my wallet again, this process cost me 3 times, it was very painful

You can use jochen-hoenicke website to check the fees on Litecoin blockchain.
As shown in the past week graph, total size of unconfirmed transactions paying 0.00000001 LTC /byte has always been less than 1 MB.

Don't use ETH in gambling, or bitcoin as transaction is really high at the moment, however, that fee is too much as its almost $40  for one transaction. Maybe use XRP for online gambling, transaction is cheaper and faster, that is available in your local exchange. If the gambling site your are using has no xrp, you can send that xrp to exchange like binance, trade it with whatever coin available as alternative in gambling sites, trx, doge, Ltc and others.

The transaction below was with a high fee (high fee estimate), I did not use the normal or low fee estimates, not to talk of using fee customization that will make the transaction much more smaller. Litecoin fee is very low.

That local wallet is a big burden to the small players because of their huge fees, avoid using that wallet for now mate or better to use XRP because that’s more cheaper compare to ETH and BTC. You can’t get away with the huge fees if you’re fund is on Metamask, look for some fresh funds and put it on exchange or look for other cryptocurrency that is available on sites that you’re using.

I’m funding my gambling account thru Binance which is more cheaper when it comes to fees. I do first the P2P transactions with no fees at all, and then transfer my BTC or ETH to my gambling account, it can cost me around $15 more or less. I usually account for the tax and fees by adding a few extra dollars in my deposit. Highest I've paid for taxes was about 100 bucks back in February at the height of crypto rally. The transaction fees is definitely taking a big toll on my gambling manners, and made me even consider quitting because there's no way I'd have to pay that huge an amount just for taxes alone. Hopefully they do something about this because transaction fees this high is not healthy for the system, so much more for the users.

When it comes to custodial wallet usage then theres no way for you to arrange or adjust those fees been set unlike on non-custodial where you can really set out according

Don't use coins.ph on transactions since I think they set the fees so high to make the transaction goes faster also there series of case that they close someones account due to gambling activities so better avoid this and use exchange like binance since they will give you more convenient options.

I have seen other gambling platform that uses fiat to place bets on, you can deposit in any currency you want but do not try to use bitcoin and ethereum, betnomi is an example of such platform where withdrawals are made through altcoins. Since you may likely be using Fiat, why don't you try betnomi because they have other available slots game to play.

That coinsph is very aggressive when it comes to the exchange rate and fees, I’m not using this wallet for now because of that fees so better to look for other gambling site that accepts crypto aside from BTC and ETH. The best option here is to replace by fee if OP wants to continue using ETH, and if not, following the trend of using Litecoin should be ideal as well. Did a bit of looking up and FJ seems to accept Litecoin anyway, so OP can buy it directly from an exchange and just send it to his account, the fees shouldn't matter much by then. If OP was using coinsph to buy though, might be better to do it in XRP, then convert it in an exchange then send it to the account, since XRP fees on coins are much lower compared to its other options.

I myself don't particularly play much, though if I do ever play, I just bear with the fees or find an optimal time to do my trades when fees are low. I started just gathering my funds for a month or two then do one big transaction that could last myself say, 2 months of playing or so (if I could bear to stop midway sometimes).

I also had issues with the fees back then as gambling sites kept the high fees but as of now not so much since there's a few gambling sites that credits deposit instantly like sportsbet for example and provide free withdrawal fees. If you can find other gambling sites that have instant deposits you'll save a lot on the fees and not worry about using an exchange. Try to find a local user where you can ask for an internal exchange. Based on the screenshot, it was coins.ph exchange where there is an internal transfer feature between their users. Your coins.ph fees to their gambling site funds.

^ We know that these two leading coins are having very high fees upon having transaction and I am sure OP was aware of this, plus another factor if you will use a custodial wallet, you can not lower the fees instead, it will add more fees. Probably there is nothing we can do here is to avoid these two leading cryptocurrencies' use, if there is a fiat option or either other altcoins to use is much better, TRX or XRP still the best for any transaction even it is a microtransaction. I think OP is not new in the crypto space and there too many alternatives if OP really wants to.

That's a huge fee. With the current price of ethereum, the transaction value seems to be $215 worth of ETH. For the $215 worth of ETH the fee is around $40. This is really high. One fifth of the amount getting charged as transaction, over the past few months the ETH network fee is quite high and we don't know how things gonna change. As of now it is always good to hold ETH on platforms where we've got swapping access. With swapping the fee seems to be low than ETH gas fee.

Some exchanges are just overcharging on fees, they are way higher than the actual network fee, when using my Electrum wallet, I'm paying like $2 to $4 transaction fee and it I get a decent confirmation time already, but in some exchanges, you'll have to pay BTC0.0005 or BTC0.001 fix.

I make bets with cheap coins such as DOGE or TRX. It feels like you are getting robbed when you use ETH network. BTC is also not a good option to make bets. XRP can also be used, it depends on which website you use to make bets. Check out supported coins and choose the cheapest one.

There are currently various gambling casino that offers others crypto other than bitcoin and ethereum on their platform. You can check and try them out and deposit with the most convenient crypto and the least fee you can find.

If the gambling casino that you want to play to doesn't offer other crypto other than bitcoin and ethereum then you might as well lower the fees which is an option on the wallet that you are using which is metamask. It might take longer to process but the fee won't be as high. Same goes to bitcoin.

Also, based on the image you've posted, it came from coins wallet which is ,for me, has one of the highest fees when transferring. I suggest you don't use that wallet for transferring crypto and only use it for withdrawal.

Damn 0.018eth for the fee? I thought my local exchange has the highest eth withdrawal fee (0.01eth) but this topic tells me that there is another service charges higher eth fee.
If you are a regular gambler, I suggest you to use other eth wallets or at least play with other coins with cheaper fee.

I understand what you are saying this is extremely problematic. But there are sites which are not only providing the users a chance to choose their Withdrawal fee but at the same time it's nominal. The deposit fee is more or so same everywhere. But I do prefer to play in casinos with low withdrawal charges like Roobet , it's fast also. If we are depositing a amount or even withdrawing when there is no way what I usually do is , get in touch with my friends who are also planning on withdrawal or deposits and then we do it together and then we can just tip the user and then they can play the bet ... This reduces the amount considerably. But then again it won't work on every site. I do think Gambling sites do need to take care of this issue really fast. You can try doing this if possible.

Most of the gambling site gives priority to those coins which have their own network. And those other coins require less transaction fee and the tx gets confirmation quickly too. Only BTC and ETH network charge high fee now, even the transaction takes longer time to be confirmed. Beside LTC you can use TRX & DOGE. Both of these coin have cheaper fee and available at FJ.

On the other hand, in bitcoin it is easy to make a deposit at low fees, you just have to be patient. Also verify that the address is segwit, some casinos have different types of addresses. LN is also an option but it is not for everyone.

Regarding ETH, there are no alternatives, pay the corresponding gas, if you put less, you will have losses, because either the transaction is canceled and you lose the fee or you have to double the fee. In ETH, sometimes if you do not want to double the fee it can take up to 15 days to be canceled.

I think it's only fair that you're being charged of transaction fees for your gambling. Those go back to the system and is used to fund the very foundation that keeps your money and finances alive. Although sometimes I do think that the transaction fees are over the top. If you insist on using ETH/BTC then the only way you can save on fees is by putting in a low tx fee/byte and waiting for confirmations.

From experience, this honestly shouldn't take too long - around a 20 sat/byte fee will get you a confirmation within half a day or on the BTC chain provided that you use native Segwit. Send the transaction by RBF just in case.

That must be the "practical solution" for the current situation. I have long back switched to TRX for gambling and trust wallet sometimes charges me zero fee to my trons and sometimes in cents (when moving TRX worth of $200 and above) but never asked in dollars. Actually its simple, send xrp to Binance then trade it with btc, then btc to altcoins, probably, trx or doge because transaction fee are cheap. Much aware of this local wallet but they do have big gaps between buy and sell which is ridiculously high compared to other wallets but well we do have our own choice though

Each exchange has there own advantages and disadvantages but I think luno and binance seem to have competition withdrawn fee. However, Litecoin is the best altcoin to use these days and Bitcoin can also be another option if send from personal Bech wallet when the Bitcoin network fee is down especially when it the weekend.

If you want to save almost a dollar per ETH transaction, just use the method I wrote above.  

I try not to transfer funds from MEW to gambling sites precisely because of high commissions. If I need to send ETH I send it from crypto exchange FTX with 0.001 ETH fee, and to the exchange itself I send funds through USDT TRC-20.

Common reaction for those people who had been used to pay up with fees which are less that a dollar.This is what we wanted and now its a bit stressing that we cant make out transactions into

The Berlin hard fork is supposed to increase the efficiency of gas fee usage. But I am skeptical about it, because of their broken promises so far. The hard fork will be officially activated tomorrow (14th April). Another upgrade of the Ethereum network is scheduled for July 2021 (London hard fork). Some of the users are claiming that the London hard fork will have a more significant impact on the fee levels, but the Berlin fork will be having only a minimal effect.

I can also say damn these fees, I cannot think of a better option to fund my account with Bitcoin and Ethereum, I'm a small gambler and the fees that will incur is going to hurt my pocket, like all the other players I opted for Tron, Litecoin, Xrp, and other coins that the gambling site I'm playing is offering, I missed those days when a $20 Ethereum deposit will cost you 5 cents, now what $20 Eth deposit will incur you $15 transaction fee.

You would really be expecting those kind of volatility because price is cheap and can be easily moved out when someones tends to buy or sell which means that

Thanks for the amendment! I confused it with USDT on the Tron blockchain. I myself use USDT only on the basis of the ETH, so I lost sight of this point. I hope I have not misled anyone and no "fake" tokens will be advertised by me

I like that in the Bitcoin network, unlike in the ETH network, the transaction will be executed even if you set a super-low fee. Even if it takes a day or two or seven days, the transaction will still be queued up and will get into the block. So if you are in no hurry to make a deposit, you can use the Bitcoin network as well.

Those are some of the worst fees that I have seen in a long time, so you are right you cannot really pay those kind of fees just to gamble a little bit, personally I don't really have a problem with this right now because I am holding my coins in my own wallet and I can adjust the fees, this means that I can choose a moment in which the network is not really that busy and send a very low fee and just hope for the best, if the transaction doesn't get confirmed then it doesn't matter because I can wait until my transaction gets out of the mempool and then try again

That's the great feature of the site, IIRC, they allow their gambler to withdraw with zero fee in their platform, but I'm not sure if they are still doing that knowing how big the fees of bitcoin networks in the present situation, or maybe they increase the minimum withdrawal fee?

I think EVERY gambling site has added XRP already. For example, Betnomi, where i played few poker series, affords deposits in XRP the same as Sportsbet and freebitcoin.

Actually it depends on the value of btc you are trading, if you are trading like $100 below, then I guess it's still good to convert it to altcoins you've mentioned so you will be able to save on the fees. For me, I usually trade my btc to xrp to gamble, it made my life easier and I don't have to worry on the high fees anymore, and there's a bonus, transaction are instant.

Bitcoin transactions fees are rediculously high right now and no one in their right mind would accept to deposit a small amount and pay half of it in fees.
My advice is to look for a casino that accepts other cryptocurrencies with lower transaction fees such as LTC (I would avoid Doge right now for obvious reasons!).
If, for some reason, you can only use bitcoin then you should opt for casinos which offer instant deposits (0-confirmation). This way you can broadcast the deposit transaction with a low fee rate and start playing right away without waiting for it to confirm.

Thanks for the suggestion, I also saw the "free accelaration" in the services, have tried it once, it was indeed free but it wasn't as fast as I expected, maybe I'm just too rush to gamble that time but will try again. Electrum suggest that amount as the lowest, so it should not confirm fast, I'm thinking, how much more slower if I will reduce the suggested fee.

Nope.. 8-9 days back, it was possible to get a confirmation even with 5 Sat/Byte. Look the fee on 12th April here:

The transaction fee is very volatile, and it depends on the mining hash rate and number of transactions. Now the hash rate has dropped due to mining farms closing down (due to power outage) in China. That has resulted in fewer blocks being mined and as a result the Mempool size has increased to 246 MB. On 12th April, as you can see from the chart, the Mempool size was just 101 MB (out of that 98 MB contributed by transactions paying a fee of 4 Sat/Byte or lower).

The problem with the custodial wallet is the highest fee and you can't able to adjust to the lower fee. I guess that's how they will generate a profit, they almost double the regular fee required by the miners. If we gamble using altcoins will I guess will a better solution, for now, I'm using XRP instead of bitcoin.

Nothing is certain for updates. Updates bring upgrades in the functionality of the wallet, it can be a fix, but sometimes, it also brings new bugs. Some people regularly upgrade their wallets, but I don't, when I use a certain version it is stable and without any problems, I will continue to use it. Some upgrade may bring some new bugs that developers have yet to find.

In short, regular updates bring additional advantages and disadvantages

Every 4-5 months, this discussion comes up when the transaction fee is high, but then it gets inactive when the mining difficulty gets adjusted and the fee goes down. What we need is a permanent solution. So here are my suggestions:

1. Make your deposits only once in 3-4 months, to reduce the spending on fee.
2. Keep some alts, such as LTC or ETC in your wallet, which can be used for urgent transactions.

I believe that however these coins are in talks of many investors currently, the fear of losing money on it can't really be resisted by the facts that both XRP (which has a lawsuit and now SEC has started stopping access to people from using Ripple) and DOGE (which can clearly be seen to have been manipulated by Elon Musk) are both having no realistic values atm and can dump any moment if any worst news come up.
