It is said that Bitcoin is the precursor of the "One World Currency" that will be used in a "One World Government". In the past, it has been predicted that a "One World Currency" would come into fruition as the current monetary system collapses in its entirety. It is today where we have Bitcoin, a Peer-to-Peer digital cash system that's decentralized, used globally by many people worldwide. Essentially, Bitcoin is a "One World Currency" although not backed by any government or trusted entity of any kind.

What do you think? Is Bitcoin the "One World Currency"? Or will another currency take its place in the future? If that happens, which currency do you think will become the "One World Currency"? Will it be the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan? Do you think governments will unanimously agree to use a single currency for everything? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Absolutely.
The fact that we can choose between Fiat and Bitcoin is only a historical accident: Fiat and Cryptocurrencies, namely Bitcoin, aren't meant to cohexist.
Soon one or the other will disappear, and if you are reading this there is a decent chance you'll be able to pick the right one.

There won't be a "one world government" and therefore there won't be a "one world currency."  No government is going to surrender its fiscal sovereignty to any foreign currency, bitcoin or otherwise.  As for bitcoin becoming a one world currency on its own, it's not going to happen because Bitcoin isn't even used as a currency.  Store of value is about the only use-case at this point and even that has to be proven out longterm.

We can't say for know if there will ever be such thing as "One World Currency", but if that's the case - I think Bitcoin is the only option because of its decentralization. Other options you've named here can fit as well, but the question is - who will agree to that, how many counties?
o admit a foreign currency to be YOUR currency as well would mean to recognize another country to be better and superior, to give them control, because of initial centralization. That can lead to many problems and, perhaps, even wars. Only something as decentralized as Bitcoin, which belongs to no one, can be considered for this role.

for developed and developing countries will be realized effectively and efficiently. So, can the system of implementing one currency easily be a solution for underdeveloped countries that are still busy increasing their local economies according to certain regions?
On the other hand, we hope to reach an agreement on using one currency, namely bitcoin, the hope of all bitcoiners. and on the other hand, we also don't want to selfishly stand on top of the economic disparities of foreign countries because bitcoin was not created to oppress the economy, but to be a solution to all overlapping economic crises. either global or local.

What do you think? Is Bitcoin the "One World Currency"?
Bitcoin is going mainstream, but know that bitcoin is not to exist alone, the value it has is because it is superior to others, so letting others too exist is not bad. Fiat and CBDC will exist, commodities like gold will exist while bitcoin will also still exist.

Or will another currency take its place in the future?
In this case, nobody knows the future.

If that happens, which currency do you think will become the "One World Currency"?
Anything can happen in the future, but it is better to comment about the present.

Will it be the US Dollar, the Euro, or the Chinese Yuan?
Do not forget they are all centralized currencies. And, know that fiat will be subjected to devaluation as they are inflationary.

Do you think governments will unanimously agree to use a single currency for everything?
I do not think so. Even if they do not agree, bitcoin that haa such characteristics is already existing. So, we do not need them to as we can use currency that are decentralized already.

I don't know where you got this idea from that there will be a "One World Govt" and Bitcoin will be the "One world currency". Those are fantastical ideas which should never really materialize. Such an order would never be beneficial for anyone. Judging from the natural world, one can easily see that diversity is the precursor of prosperity. Homogeneity always leads to the death of ecosystems.

The idea with Bitcoin which gained some traction was that of Bitcoin becoming the world's reserve currency in place of the dollar or the IMF's system of SDRs. As Bitcoin is limited and public, this would potentially take away the power to manipulate currency issuance and sponsoring of wars/ sanctions unilaterally by the developed world.

One world government should release the one world currency while bitcoin is not created by any government so it is not actually the oe world currency. The idea is to supress the government and steal the people sources further but bitcoin is completely against it which wanted people to get their freedom while using their money.

Bitcoin is not the World Currency (yet?).

At present it is much more a store of value than a currency and, for it to be a currency, the LN or other solutions will have to be improved, since nowadays the fees and the waiting time make it impracticable.

In theory, after it becomes established as a store of value, which it is already doing, it could become a medium of exchange, and finally a unit of account, so that everything would be referenced to Bitcoin. If we reach that point, we will be able to talk about Bitcoin as the One World Currency.

Bitcoin cannot be one world currency because, there are still some countries in the world don't believe that bitcoin is a real digital currency than to see it as scam currency to them. Since the government cannot control bitcoin, will it will hard for bitcoin to become one world currency. Many government need currencies they can control and have access to it at anytime in the country.

If the leaders find a way to make use of Bitcoin and turn it completely to their own advantage, it might be. Remember that while 10 years ago the focus of Bitcoin was to escape the current system, nowadays besides profit nobody gives a damn about escaping it. We aren't looking at ways to obtain control of our own finance and financial privacy anymore, and the governments absolutely LOVE that.

But as we're seeking profit, governments are seeking ways to push BTC closer to their own goals.

I don't know where you got this idea from that there will be a "One World Govt" and Bitcoin will be the "One world currency". Those are fantastical ideas which should never really materialize.
It's not recent news. The Pope has been calling for a One-World-Gov for a while now. The UN is smoothly moving that direction too.

They want one, and it's not something they're hiding or something we're just guessing.

I hope no, the bitcoin was design to be isolated itself, you’re trying to centralised a currency into one entity, a one world currency, this is the next level of cash heist, currency no, cash heist, yes.

I think that OP is talking about the ifs of the situation. Yes there are countries that will not recognize bitcoin as a global currency but we are dealing with the hypothetical situation here. I would say that bitcoin could become the worlds.currency but the problem is that  I don't think that there is enough bitcoin to circulate around the world's economy.

It seems true that what is meant by the currency of one world is bitcoin. Because bitcoin can be used by anyone and from any circle. chances are if fiat continues to experience inflation, then the only way to replace fiat is bitcoin which will not experience inflation. besides, bitcoin is decentralized and fairly distributed. So, I think the one world currency that we will use in the future is bitcoin.

There will never be, one currency for all countries in the world.  Even the dollar cannot be used as currency for all countries, neither can BTC.  Every country has its own needs and interests.  How can different needs be combined with one medium of exchange.  This will be very difficult to implement.  BTC which was good enough was not accepted by all countries and China immediately made its competitors.  So that whether it's BTC or not, no one will be able to unite the country's currency.

Although Bitcoin was born on the idea A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, at this point it is also more than obvious that its application is quite different, because for most investors it is not a currency, but just a way to make a profit or store of value.

It is my opinion that it is unrealistic to expect the world's greatest powers to ever give up their monetary sovereignty in favor of something they cannot control, and that can be called Bitcoin or some xCoin. Maybe something like this is possible in the distant future, but for now fiat will remain something that people still believe in the most - and when it comes to Bitcoin, we are still very far from any significant adaptation - unless someone thinks that 1-2% of the world's population involved in crypto is something significant?

This is a topic that I have always wondered about, as a child they told me that this was going to happen, a single world currency, if we go to the sacred scriptures at the end of time they talk about this and a seal, Sometimes I think that the seal It is the QR code, but already leaving the religious plane and of particular formation, Bitcoin can be the only currency in the world, because it is decentralized and because it is not controlled by governments or banks.

It is a currency that everyone can have access to, of course countries or great powers are against Bitcoin, it is normal, because their liquidity based on FIAT money is affected, they could no longer devalue their currency, because compared to Bitcoin it is worse . In traditional economics, very little is actually what FIAT money is backed with gold, yet Powell, chairman of the FED, takes into account the possible gold substitute that has been Bitcoin, even though Bitcoin does not have a solid financial backing, only supply and demand and blockchain.

Countries will begin to fight each other, in fact it is already happening, they will begin to launch their own stablecoins based on Blockchain, but over time it will give the same result, because the more bills that are printed will have the same debt and inflation problem, in cryptocurrencies would have to limit their supply, and I don't think they will.

"One World Currency" sounds a lot like some sort of conspiracy theory or doomsday scenario. I believe that there will never be such thing as single global government and single global currency, at least not in the next 1000 years.

Bitcoin being global by nature does not automatically make it the future single world currency, a lot of things need to happen for that - the collapse of major governments, full solution to Bitcoin's scalability, lack of competition from centralized systems like Visa that can just issue their own currency in such scenario.

One world currency sounds good and it's happening as the marketcap keeps growing. It's also a digital gold that could surpass the marketcap of gold in the future. Currently we are still at number 8, but we know how fast bitcoin could pump since its our currency, so maybe soon we will be in the top 3 before we get to the top 1. That has been my dream and I think it will come into reality in the future.
