I am hosting my miners and wondering what is the best way to name workers? What system do you have in place?

Only one name is fine like "miner1" then set up all of your miners to one pool with the same username/password.

Or are you planning to separate them with different worker names?

Samples like s9miner, s17miner, and s19miner
or if you have the same miner like Antminer s9 but you want to separate them then you can use s9miner1, s9miner2 and s9miner3.
For altcoin mining they usually, use rig1, rig2, and rig3.

Actually, only one worker name is enough, you can mine with the same worker name and password in your all miner.

What exactly do you want to achieve?

Thanks for the feedback.. I was wondering if you use names to identify type of miner, etc. If that matters for the future, etc.

Thanks for the feedback.. I was wondering if you use names to identify type of miner, etc. If that matters for the future, etc.

If you want to manage them well there is some software that you can use like Awesomeminer it can automatically identify the miner unit model if that's that thing that are you looking for?
It looks like this

Source: https://www.awesomeminer.com/screenshots

As you can see it will show all the model types of the miner, numbers, including IPs, hashrate, and daily/monthly earnings in USD. So I guess this is what you looking for.

Or if you only have all Bitmain units you can use their own software called APminertool
You can download it from here https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023257293-Recommended-Antminer-monitor-and-management-tools-APMinerTool-BTC-Tool-

The tools are great, but can they be used even if I host externally with third parties?
