You should check out the XUMM app, it is the best one for XRP and it runs on the XRP Ledger.

Buying a hardware wallet is what you need if you want to keep that asset for long term. It's also supported by Ledger which is the hardware wallet, you'll have no problem using this HW for long term as it's one of the most secure and common hardware wallets.

Binance is a great, trusted and secured wallet and it is as well a good trading platform for your xrp. You should check it out.

This is not true, custodial wallets are not the best of choices when you're looking for wallets to store your coins for the long run, quite a lot of things could go wrong along the way (system hacks is a possibility) and since you're not in control of the private keys, you could most probably lose your funds easily, or in another scenario have to wait for an 'unfriendly' support team to respond to you if any problem occurs; the best choice is to select secure non-custodial wallets, HW wallet being your best choice and be in control and free to use/spend your funds the way you deem fit.

I cannot say it is a good long term investment when it still has a pending case with the SEC. Are you aware of that?

This is prolly another thing to look out for if you haven't already, I know XRP is pumping at the moment, but it can also experience a sharp dump/plunge in price, it's lawsuit with the SEC is not over yet, and a negative verdict can mean a negative movement in it's price

Exchange not a wallet, If you want to hold with a longer term try to use a waller while you can access the private key/seed itself. I suggest to @OP trying to find a wallet :
- Open source
- Have some ability to export the private key/seed of your wallets.

If you have more money, then hardware wallet would be awesome!

why do you think multi coin wallet are not safe? because in my opinion for now multi coin wallet is very good and makes it easier for us to store cryptocurrency we have in just one wallet, therefore I am currently using Trust Wallet to store my cryptocurrency and I also want to recommend you to store your XRP on Trust Wallet, because I think Trust Wallet is very safe to use and of course you will definitely feel comfortable using Trust Wallet.

Go for hard wallet and keep it until you reach your goal, Ledger is a good investment to protect your holdings.

Anyway, you should not invest based on advice of your friends, you have to see it for yourself so you won’t lose the money. XRP is good but their pending case is stopping them from growing a lot, we don’t know what will happen in the next coming years so its better to have a plan and don’t just hold.

I'm using Exodus to store my XRP it's a multi-currency wallet, it's safe, secure, and fast, you should do your own research about XRP, your friend just told you that it's a long term investment, yes it could be but you should also be aware of the pending case SEC has filed against them, and if they lose the case, that could be the end of Ripple, they are pumping right now, but be sure you are on the safe side when something goes wrong, only invest what you can afford to lose.

I wouldn't call Exodus safe and secure though, it's not open source wallet. And there are a lot of fake wallets in Google play as well, just saying.

So as some have suggested, buy hardware wallet if you are looking for a long term hold on XRP.

The case about SEC is a different topic though, hard to speculate what will happen to XRP if they losses the cases against SEC. I doubt that it will the end, the most logical choose is to fight back or move out of the US for good.

I would recommend using binance as a safe storage for your xrp tokens, their security is strong as long as you've been verified. Other folks recommended a personal wallet, but I never experienced to use them. Though others might think that it's not safe to store at trading site, but only for those who haven't yet done a kyc at exchanges. If they find this suggestions isn't reliable, then you're free to choose what's good for you.

You can purchase a Ledger or trezor if you are planning to invest in the long term. You can also store in a trust wallet in case you do not have additional funds!!! Before investing, you should also think about what it is now xrp because the issue has not yet been resolved. Are you sure about that? Binance is an exchange, you don't have total control of your private keys. And for the record they have been hack before, so it's not recommendable to used them as it is not safe to store your XRP, and to be fair, any exchanges out there is not safe for the hackers.

I think you can try the ledger nano s hardware wallet. I have this wallet and I see that it supports XRP

It looks like there are lots of good things that will happen to XRP after the lawsuit.
Most of the wallets are secure to use but choose a wallet that doesn't ask to leave 20XRP when you withdraw them all from it. There had been lots of it including those of coinomi, trustwallet, gatehub and so on. I'm not sure which wallet actually doesn't ask to leave 20XRP this is why I just use the exchange wallet for XRP.
