Who would expect to find x-rated images on a Bitcoin related domain name?

I think there should be some amount of decency shown by those owning crypto domains to ensure that those hoping to find associated articles do NOT end up finding unsuitable material that could offend.

In this case, the domain could be used to provide lots of Bitcoin related information and links but it chose to list half-hearted not well written articles along with an x-rated image in the header that serves no purposes apart from linking back to the domain name: https://www.bitcoin.name/category/bitcoin-trends/

What is the point of the domain owner implementing the universal right of their freedom of expression when it is somewhat (or completely) irresponsible towards those visiting the website?

Do you think those owning crypto related domains should ensure they do not display unsuitable images (and misinformation) because newbie and gullible investors as well as those of all ages youth and elderly could view the pages? Or do you think it is not that much of an issue?

There are millions of domains out there that are trying to generate traffic by using popular words. If someone wants to host X-rated stuff in an attempt to generate traffic to their site, it's going to happen. In an ideal world no, it's not going to be there. In the real world, it's everywhere. Once you are our of the bigger TLDs (com / net / org / info / biz) and into the ones that you can register for just a few bucks it's going to happen more.

I agree there a so many domains out and so many are already misleading by having a particular name yet when clicked they shows something unrelated. It is just a pity that people clicking links hoping to learn about Bitcoin might end up seeing x-rated images as well as learning little about blockchains and so on.

There are millions of domains out there that are trying to generate traffic by using popular words. If someone wants to host X-rated stuff in an attempt to generate traffic to their site, it's going to happen. In an ideal world no, it's not going to be there. In the real world, it's everywhere. Once you are our of the bigger TLDs (com / net / org / info / biz) and into the ones that you can register for just a few bucks it's going to happen more.

The website seems to be outdated and is rehashing articles from other sites (a common technique to boost SEO by rising on someone else's traffic). As a webmaster I can tell you that other webmasters might put X-rated images at the top of their pages to attempt to get more people to scroll through the page and the links in hopes there are more X-rated images to see which ostensibly is supposed to increase site traffic a little, but this is a complete waste of time if you have no traffic in the first place, and disgusts the majority of users who would otherwise use the site, which I can tell without having to go to Alexa by the fact that it has no Google Search hits.

The website is also on sale since at least 2014 so steering away potential buyers like this makes little sense. Most sites and brands do not want to be associated with XXX content whether it's through the brands' own ads being served there or if the domains or the sites underlying them have ever looked XXXish.

The content and layout was definitely outdated and it was probably far more of an attempt to try to raise interest in Bitcoin with a hope to selling it (as you rightly pointed out) but the owner could have done a far better job content wise in order to make it more of an attractive project to potential buyers. It seems more of a let-down and a waste of a domain that could have had lots of positive things going on.

They should not, but it's their site and they can do whatever they want to do with it, I've checked all the contents of the site and they are Crypto-related articles, maybe it's meant to attract mature viewers, but it's a bad move because images is meant to attract visitors to the content of the site, there's amateurism displaying unrelated images from the content of the site.

But the owner is lucky to have Bitcoin on it's domain, the word Bitcoin in a domain now is very expensive.

Who should force them to ensure that they do not display inappropriate images? Bitcoin calls for decentralization, you can't force central people to put something or remove it.
The solution to the problem lies in increasing good content and facilitating searching for it, that it tops the first pages of the search product and educating users with the correct information that they can, with their own eyes, discover misleading information and fight it.

bitcoin.name you mentioned is old outdate and it will not get any traffic.

Its an issue,Bitcoin is not porn related stuffs and there are young adults that are already involved on Bitcoin and they will find the site inappropriate for them, I wonder what's running in his mind displaying these porn related images when it has nothing to do with all the articles
I would not recommend this website even if the content is worth reading.

I don't think there will be much to do in terms of enforcement of decency rules on bitcoin-related domain names. They are handled by domain name registrars after all, and if there's a potential sale for a bitcoin-related domain name, they would do it if the price is right. They won't be too concerned on what the buyer is going to do with the domain for as long as these buyers follow the terms and conditions of the provider.

A rather unorthodox and expensive approach is to just buy all those domains and be the administrator over them. Screen out buyers and impose guidelines on what content can only be posted on the domain. Then again, this is far too authoritarian in nature, so this approach may not work at all.

it is unacceptable and disgusting, it seems to me that the person must have been hacked because it cannot be normal to post such an image (even if the woman is attractive and certainly it would be more appropriate to post it on some pornography site that I don't have nothing against if it's legal) on a site that is supposed to talk about bitcoin. maybe the site was hacked because I can't imagine the site owner putting that image

I think people and companies purchasing Bitcoin related domains should not behave like this. Sure it is their freedom of expression to do what they want with their website but it is irresponsible for them to add explicit content when the audience they are looking to attract want to read about Bitcoin.

I don't think so, if the owner of the site was purposefully putting that image, I am pretty sure that the owner won't be plastering his/her real name on that site. I think there should be a regulation regarding websites and it's content even though it looks like it clashes with freedom of speech, just because you are free to say something doesn't mean that you can't be held accountable to it.
