Looking through this board we keep seeing some of the same exchanges / casinos come up again and again in different posts with issues / complains.
Doing a quick google search of the name does not always bring up these posts.

Would we better serve the community if a master thread, with some keywords was maintained as a sticky so it might show up better on Google / other search engines.

I don't know if it would even work. And at the end of the day we as a community, are not your mother, so people should be doing a bit more research before sending money to some place. But it might help.

Just a thought, what does everyone else think?

It might be a good idea, but it's too hard to execute. To help it show up better on Google, it's like you want your website to be better advertised. And it is both an art, an art of content marketing and an SEO. Let's think about something really expensive and recommended for free, you can't help everyone, just accept it

I remember before I joined Bitcointalk, I do not know much about cryptocurrencies, and I wanted a gambling site that accepts bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies like litecoin. The first I saw was 1xbit, I researched about the site online and I saw many online comments about the betting site, that they do freeze users account. That was the reason I did not register on the platform. People should not just register on a betting site or an exchange or on any custodial service providing dealing with cryptocurrencies. The same reason goes to HitBTC when I saw many online contents that recommend people not to use the exchange that they do freeze someone's account.

People should make research, just like ChuckBuck commented that you can not help everyone. But nothing bad to have a report of any such sites that have such behaviour of scamming people.

I know we can't help everyone or even most people. But, I just think that since we are one of the largest BTC discussion areas out there, AND we have a lot of threads discussing the same places doing the same scam over and over it kind of sucks that doing a search at times that it does not come up.

I really don't know if 1 "mega thread" would make it better or worse. Or if there might be certain wording we can put in that post or all the posts that discuss the issue that would make it more visible on searches.

"SCAM" is the key word you are looking for.

Fortunately most members who create posts the scam accusations board use "scam" when reporting scam or shady service. It's upon the person who's searching to include the word scam in the search bar.

For example if I search "1xbit Scam" in google. Some scam accusations about 1xbit come up in the search results

A mega thread will not work (I mean, not really helpful) if it is not shown on the front page of the search page, it will be like all other posts in the Scam Accusations section of this forum.

As mentioned above, to get it to show up on the front page of search results, you need to have the most relevant tags, keywords. So who can do that? I'm not sure if we can do it, but if there's a content marketer here to do it, it would be great for sure, they have the skills to analyze and filter keywords, it is necessary.

What else? this forum does not give users the ability to create posts with tags inside them. If you pay attention to articles or advertisements, there are always tags for users to find easily. These tags not only help users search internally on websites and forums, but also increase their chances of appearing on other search pages. So, if you want to implement your idea, you'll need to ask theymos to update the tagging feature. And I don't think it's possible 

By the way, I'm just a kid who doesn't know too much about everything, my words might be wrong, so if someone finds that it doesn't match, just hit me, let me know how wrong I am

After a while I realize that if you don't have real motivation and help from the community then it's hard to keep such topics clean, tidy, and up-to-date.
Many members report and the effort is dispersed, the effect is minimal.
Search engines do not show forums as the first search option unless you are using the forum or have modified the search option.

Someone who can proficiently use the search option in the forum should be able to pick out where certain websites have been mentioned, and using certain key words, they can narrow the search down to when they are mentioned for certain topics; as suggested, using SCAM or SHADY in addition to the website name would help filter all the posts related to it and suggest the most related info.

Newbies may not know how to effectively use the forum seach option and such a general thread would price useful in such situations, but it would be difficult to maintain and if it takes off fully, could give members a faux sense of security that websites not listed could be trusted.

Well just by adding "site:bitcointalk.org" to keywords would do it easier to find Scam Accusations of a certain casino or projects.

To be more accurate you can also use "site:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0" to make google show results only from the Scam Accusation board.

As long as the thread was in no way self moderated, then it might have merit, then again there are some threads which are supposed to be a "super thread" only to have people starting threads in other sections asking how they can start such a thread, or, just posting the information they want to (e.g. staking a wallet address, or asking how to make a scam accusation)

Most scam accusation threads reflect on Google search, but not all the threads. Using keywords on the post wouldn't help on Google search IMO. For example, I just search about Bittrex on Google. But it leads me to a few other threads. When I use Bittrex Bitcointalk then many threads showing on Google. I don't know if hashtag would help on Google search. Otherwise, we have to add the word Bitcointalk to get related threads on the forum. Those who aren't familiar with the forum couldn't search in this way. But at least those who are familiar with the forum can get some research and reports from the forum. Something is better than nothing, at least forum users would save their assets from scammers if use a search button either forum or Google just adding by Bitcointalk.

A master thread that has a list of all scam accusations of casinos and the status of the threads would be a good idea. In order for google to give it a high ranking, many people would need to link to the thread, which should happen naturally over time if it is well maintained.

Most Bitcointalk users already know this forum as a knowledge source. It's not a problem for anyone who's known for this forum. I guess OP targeting newcomers to Bitcoin gambling, who quite possibly don’t even know the close connection between the BTT forum and exposing of fraudulent casinos.

I see that as a disaster waiting to happen.
I also see 1 person trying to do it themselves as working for a while until they get busy and then it goes to hell.

Trying to come up with a solution, but can't think of any at the moment. Was busy all day and am kind of brain-fried at the moment which kind of proves my point. If I had to do some serious thread cleaning at the moment, it would not happen or if it did, it would not be done well.

Do you think that if the people tried to really search it, they would stumble in the forum? Yes, unless they are doing quick searches. If you are a regular user of the forum, that's no problem, but being indexed higher in the search results would be ideal if it's verified or something. It's not that easy to do, and Google is not looking at the particular site but listing the most viewed as well.

It's still ideal to have it at the top of the list so newcomers to the crypto space would reference where they could look at possible scams.

even, in theory, this will be difficult. Selecting users who will have access to that account can be very complicated. Also, more users more at risk of account hack, where all the previous work of a few people could very easily be destroyed.

I have previously considered launching a website for this purpose, where few people can moderate and keep them updated regularly but then the power of Bitcointalk authority is lost.
