The only thing that's not scarce and useful for mining right now is gaming laptops and the surprising thing is they aren't costly in price meaning that many people aren't buying for mining purpose, I'm thinking of getting rid of my xbox one X finally and get a gaming laptop with massive gpu onboard not for mining purpose but gaming yet I could mine with it anyways to make few dollars

There is no huge demand for laptops in my country, I've been trying to buy a MSI laptop since 2020 but I kept postponing it but right now the price for this laptop is still 1000$ in my country, available for sale right now, I guess laptops are more available than GPUS

Maybe in your own country laptops are sold out but not in mine, the reason why many don't use laptops for mining is because they can't actually handle the heat generated from mining but gaming laptops are designed with high end cooling components but they are costly, would definitely not be a good choice for hardcore miners out there

Every country has a different situation and income level. In my country, gaming laptops are very expensive and it is not profitable to buy them for mining purposes. I'd rather buy a video card and get a higher hashrate for the same price. If you've decided to buy a gaming laptop and you're happy with the price, then that's great.
You should be aware that a mining laptop can break from overheating. Therefore, gaming laptops are not the best solutions for gaming and mining. It is better to use a personal computer, but not a mobile one.

I think the reason why gaming desktops are more in demand than gaming laptops is because most people who buy the gaming desktop, they take out the GPU and put it in their open air rig. You can't do that with a mobile GPU.

Then they either wait until the GPUs are in supply again or put in some slower GPU in the desktop or just part out the desktop part by part. WIth a mobile gaming laptop you can't really do that. No point in buying a gaming laptop just to mine with 1 GPU.

A mid range gaming laptop costs around a thousand dollar but with a gpu like gtx1660 ti or super, that's just it, I think this is stupid investment if one real purpose of buying mining crypto, I could buy a desktop gaming pc because I can expand it for mining because of its motherboard but not laptop

so 250 days to break even  as it would make 875 and burn about 67 dollars in power net of 808

And there is probability of break down when mining continues on the laptop nonstop, this isn't gaming where you will eventually get tired and turn the laptop off but mining requires 24/7 action, this is why laptop is a bad idea for mining, if it's a must it's better to go for rugged build laptops like MSI, Alienware, Asus ROG, but just like you said, they are too costly

hp.com has a decent omen but it is 1500 has a 3070 in it it mines about 5 usd a day and burns 135 watts

so at 10 cent power $0.325 a day burned

and 50 x .100 = $5.00 a day earned

nets 4.67 a day  so 321 days to breakeven  a border line purchase.

If I get the best buy version it is 1599 after tax it is 1703.

 I have multiple coupons drops  it to 1108 / 4.67 = 237 days .  It is a gaming device but 237 days is a long time to recover funds.

Laptops are not safe either  if this mining thing continues to be profitable for long period of time laptops will become scarce just like GPUs today, smart miners are digging for cheap laptops with gtx1650ti at least, don't be surprised it's already happening

A laptop with gtx1650ti will cost over 700$ and that's the ones with slower CPU and small ram setup, like 8gb moreover who the heck are those buying this things for mining? Bear market can resume at any time, this is greed at play honestly

yeah there are gonna be soooo many dead/damaged laptops on ebay etc after this boom.

desktop cards that mine are often undervolted and well cooled. so a lot of mining cards see easier duty (constant temp, no power cycles). compared to some gamers card overclocked in a case with crap ventilation, hasnt been dusted out in years, some no name psu etc). so theres resale value if you part out your mining rig later. psu, cards, cpu/mobo ram etc

but a mobile gpu in a notebook. good luck. i saw pics of some notebooks that had their shells removed so the cooling system could breath easier.

and whats to part out on a dead(ish) notebook really. ram?

someone ran the numbers on potential profit, the notebooks mostly seem to be one brand and run around $1000 or maybe it was $1200. USD. 9 months to break even.

pulls 120ish watts. dont recall the hash rate (mobile 3060s) but easy to look up and do the math. of course mining profits are fickle things but this boom might have some legs.

guess the real question is: will the laptops even make it to 9 months? heh.

Do they have no breakdown statistics? I don't mind additional cooling and the laptops are very close to each other.
It is easier to put them in the shape of the letter A so that they do not touch each other and do not heat each other.
The metal shelf will also heat up, I don't understand this degen mining

saw some pics on them "tented" to the "A" shape you mentioned. add fans to move air through the tent and doing shelves and proper airflow it could work out. maybe.

the pics in these seem to use the one behind it to raise it like an inch so the intakes under it (i presume they are on the bottom) can get air.
