A thousand dollars was deducted from my bank account on April 14 but does not appear in my Coinbase Pro account (and it is now April 17). I am in the US with Chase bank account.

I can use the $1000 to buy/sell crypto  immediately after initiating the deposit on Coinbase Pro but can't withdraw or move any crypto to my Exodus wallet until Coinbase actually gets the money on their end. But since the money has been deducted by my bank on my end three days ago shouldn't Coinbase already have received the funds in their account?

Contact Coinbase and ask them about it. Nobody here can help you. Looks like there is a problem with their synchronization with their bank account, or something might have screwed up on your transaction. Anyway, if that doesn't help, ask your bank too. Who knows, maybe they flag it as malicious so it's not processed yet.

Like I said the funds have already been deducted from my bank account so my bank has finished processing it.
The $1000 deposit transaction also shows as "completed" in my Coinbase Pro portfolio which also shows close to $1000 of ETH (of course the value varies due to market) in my portfolio balance and yet when I click on withdraw (to crypto address) it says "no funds to withdraw" and "pending deposit."

  • Is this the first time that thousand dollars was deducted from your bank account?
  • did you transact with this bank or is it the first time?
  • Some banks have a policy against bitcoin and they may flag the transaction.does your bank have any issues with Bitcoin
  • If the bank is a bitcoin friendly, you used it more than once and made sure that the amount was deducted from your account, contact Coinbase support team.

Do not use Exodus wallet to store your coin it has closed source and have some synchronization problems (use VPN to check) and it is better to use a better wallet. Electrum or MetaMask

This is the best thing to do first. Coinbase itself can be able to get track of your transaction.

I am kinda worried now about the customer service of Coinbase, sure there are a lot of their customers who have problems and probably they currently have huge traffic for customer service since recently they went public and for sure a lot of people attract and started to use Coinbase.

Coinbase has something called “withdrawal availability” and I think that is what is affecting you right now. If affects users who purchased crypto through their bank account. For "security reasons", Coinbase won't allow you to immediately withdraw or send assets purchased from a linked bank account.

You can read more about that here:
https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/trading-and-funding/sending-or-receiving-cryptocurrency/available-balance-faq

Your available balance is how much you can withdraw or transfer immediately out of your Coinbase account. It’s directly related to purchasing crypto or depositing fiat currency using a linked bank account. For security reasons, you will not be able to immediately withdraw fiat deposited using a linked bank account or send crypto purchased with such funds off of Coinbase (we call this “withdrawal availability”).

Do not use Exodus wallet to store your coin it has closed source and have some synchronization problems (use VPN to check) and it is better to use a better wallet. Electrum or MetaMask
From what I understood from the OP, he purchased ether so he cant store those coins in Electrum.

"Your available balance is how much you can withdraw or transfer immediately out of your Coinbase account."

The strange thing is my current available balance shows around $1000 of ETH but I can't withdraw any of it. But according to the Coinbase FAQ I should be able to "withdraw or transfer immediately out of Coinbase account" like it says.

But when clicking the withdraw button it says "no funds available" - clicking again on this link it says

"While we wait for your bank transfers you can instantly trade with your total balance. Your pending deposits will be available to send or withdraw in a few days. --- Pending deposits available in two days"

Is this normal? Apparently my $1000 deposit is still pending even though it shows up in my portfolio with no holds and approx. $1000 in available balance.

It may be down to waiting a couple of days more. According to their site, US Customers may require 3 to 5 days business days to completely clear the transfer (see https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/trading-and-funding/buying-selling-or-converting-crypto/how-long-does-a-purchase-or-deposit-take-to-complete). You’re currently on the lower end of that timeframe (the weekend won’t count). At this point, you could probably query your bank tomorrow to see if the TX is final and effective, having reached Coinbase.

It is when Coinbase is concerned. I remember reading posts from the past where users had to wait 9 days after completing a trade to be allowed to withdraw their money from their Coinbase accounts. They say that they do it to "protect the customers". There isn't much you can do at this time but to wait for two days to pass. When they allow you to finally take YOUR MONEY consider if that ordeal is worth going through again and maybe change to another more customer-friendly exchange.
