Hello, new user here, I've asked this many times in Reddit about this but I always have been getting people to sell me either Newton or Shakepay, however, I was more interested in one like Netcoins since it is public and doesn't have hidden fees on the spread, unlike Newton.

However, I want to know for sure so I'm asking here if Netcoins is really that good?

Thank you so much in advance!

I'm not from Canada but I believe Netcoins is one of the most popular for Canadian folks and they are very fast to verify and approve your documents for the KYC. I've never heard about Newton and only know Shakepay for the name.

However, you also have the alternative to use Kraken (and maybe Coinbase), which uses CAD. It's one of the biggest and oldest exchange around and there are no hidden fees other than what is listed on their website.
Of course, like with Netcoins, you'll have to verify your ID

I never even heard about Newton and you don't need to use exchange that is based in Canada, they probably have much lower volume and higher fees for trading.
Coinbase is one of the top exchanges that is based in United States but it is available for customers from Canada, and I think similar situation is with Kraken and Bittrex exchange.

I also found this cryptohead website with exchange comparison for Canadians, but do your own research before using any of them:

I've actually never heard of Netcoins prior to today. Based off of the price info at the top of the screen, it seems that they still have a spread, but smaller than Newton (and thus smaller than Shakepay). From first glance, assuming their legit, it seems like a decent option.

Another option worth considering might be Ndax, which is more of an actual exchange. The spread is smaller, but they do have a 0.2% trading fee and a flat $25 CAD withdraw fee for fiat. If you're working with larger amounts, you might come out ahead.

This is where I'm at with this. Starting to look for a decent off ramp in Canada, especially across various coins. I've settled on NDAX, but it's my first Canadian exchange since Quadriga. Dealing anything over a couple thousand and all the spread providers, including Coinberry just come off overly expensive. Another upside to NDAX is it has a wider array of deposit options for coins I'm looking to sell, saving me another conversion elsewhere.

I just don't know many people who have used it. Not planning on storing funds there, just simply depositing crypto and converting to CAD, then fire it off to the old bank account. Has anyone used it and what was your experience? registration was a breeze apart from the forced usage of Google authenticator.

Sorry for the really late response, but I've used Ndax to sell 5 figures worth of BTC to CAD. KYC went smoothly, and the exchange process went about as expected - I was able to deposit, sell and withdraw without issues. The money hit my bank account quite quickly too. I'm not sure if I'd trust them enough to hold funds there, but for a quick exchange I don't think you'll have any issues! Forced 2FA might be annoying but it's good for security  Tongue

Sorry for the really late response,
All good, I wound up bitting the bullet and just going through with it. Considering in the time I looked I didn't come across a bunch of scam accusations that was good enough. Just like you said dead simple to use once KYC'd and funds were in my account the next business day I believe. A convenient little off-ramp, I'll probably continue to convert most coins to Tether on Binance then transfer to NDAX to cash out. Assuming they continue to accept Tether for the forseeable.
