I was using the metamask app on my android some months back and it just suddenly stopped working normal whenever i tried to use Dapp in it. This Deserve bad reviews from users who dont really know how dangerous it is to use Dapps. I was thinking maybe the app was not working fine for Dapps for security reasons. So, I waited patiently for an upgrade. And its working fine now. I think there is no issue with metamask for now.

Yes, I had the same worry a few years ago when I was going to use Metamask for the first time. I remember that in these days I finally decided not to use it, but now I don't have much of a problem doing it.
Anyway, even if you keep your keys and all, I still use it with addresses where I hodl little money, just in case. But for little amounts and not all your savings, I guess it's ok to use it at the moment.
This is what I do, at least, but keep mistrusting and verifying.

your tidiness and grammatical economy amazes me. I am more prone to use a more natural language approach in my posts, but I guess I should learn from a master and try at least sometimes to summarise the info the way you do. Concise and direct. Legend.

I've never used the smartphone version of Metamask. Previously, I had used the smartphone version of the metamask extension, but it couldn't be accessed. I suggest to use the windows browser version of metamask. And I also read some of their reviews, but there are problems with their smartphones, not because the metamask is not good.

Desktop is also vulnerable to hacks so don't feel completely secure because you are using the browser version. I suggest using the Ledger or other hardware wallet and connect them via Metamask if they wanted so their private keys won't be compromised so easily.
