I've created Bitcoin Mindset browser extension, which can convert prices of various cryptocurrencies, fiat currencies or commodities between each other, so it can come handy to anyone who is interested in crypto. Extension requires no permissions, so you can rely on no misbehavior. More information and short video about this extension is available here:

The addon looks nice, i just watch the video and it would be really useful for those who are addicted to verify the price of bitcoin and other altcoins.

The problem is the reputation that this kind of extension has, a lot of them were used in the past to steal users' data, even to drain wallets, and I'm not saying yours is doing it, but people knows there is a big risk on this.

So, great luck with the project, and I hope it gets the trust it deserves.

It's good you tested it using Brave browser in your video. It's useful having a powerful convertor as a browser tool because it's going to save time staying on the same page or you'll have to open another tab to find a convertor. Are you planning to develop it more in future?

Similar to what @seoincorporation mentioned, it's going to be tricky when it comes to most of us installing it so is there a way to make it open-source so one of the known developers/back-end coders could verify it and is there a way to be sure if the code you'll be publishing is exactly the code behind the extension on the chrome web store?

What website are you using for conversion rates from other currencies?
Lot of people here use Firefox or Tor browser so making add-ons for that browser would be a good idea, and it would help if you release source code for your extension on github or some similar website, so that anyone can inspect it and check if there are any suspicious lines of code.

I was kinda excited when I read the title "Bitcoin Mindset". Surprised but not disappointed realizing it's a Bitcoin Price Converter extension lol You seem to have added a lot of features for an extension. I'd like it to be very minimalistic though. Also, the only part I'd criticize is the UI, looks like it is poorly designed and the colors/theme/fonts don't look great with the modern web standards. You might want to revisit the UI? Drag and Drop are nice too. Do you use local storage to save the configured preferences? If yes, that is something that would concern me.

Currently I'am adapting this extension also for Firefox & Tor browsers (thank you for the tip). There are some incompatibilities with manifest file and appropriate code, but I think I can solve this soon. Also, you're right with styling the extension, I'll do something with it.

That is great point about publishing the code, I was also considering this, but I'am not sure if it is good idea at this moment. I think, that in this early stage I need to be ahead of someone who just copy the code, but I'll consider it later. It seems that Google Web Store has no straight way to place signature of the extension, but maybe there is a way... I'll do some more investigations how to solve this sensitive stuff later so as it is connected with publishing the code - at least the code is already accessible directly through inspecting the extension, but is minimized at this moment so it's quite useless. However, I understand that there is big emphasis on the trust, privacy and security so I will keep this in my mind.

Conversion rates data are being fetched from CoinGecko and cached on my backend. From there data is fetched by the extension. All the user configuration is stored on local storage. No data is sending out from the extension, except of the data from feedback form, but I think I can remove this form, because there is a way to contact me through the Google Web Store. All the network traffic is also available by inspecting the extension, which itself is not a proof, but with this the extension can gather some extra trust points :-)

If you have some other considerations, I'd be happy to be inspired by reading it. Thank you very much

You have a site so why not display conversions directly instead of installing a plugin/extension. Coinmarketcap have crypto exchange services  it is not logical for someone to install an add-on for an already existing feature or that can be obtained with little effort.
with 10 uers and 7 good reviews its hard to trust it

Publishing the code isn't going to hurt your project. You can still move ahead because you'll keep updating your project. I'd say you're better off making it available for inspection so you'll receive top reviews and trust simultaneously.

I think you have nice project
. But I have some suggestion. You not have a good description on your project on https://bitcoinmindset.org/. You also not publishing your code to public access. In my side, a project with no clear description may be make a problem like stealling user data and more. And your project without permission and with what your compare the value. For now, I think you have a big misterius of your project.

I am already using Coingecko portfoio feature I think it's enough for me for now, since I'm monitoring few altcoins but I'm supporting this kind of tools that can help the community I agree that the problem is always establishing the reputation because in the past there's so many similar extensions that steal user's info and coins, it only has 13 users so far, not enough to establish the reputation, I hope we can read many good reviews in the future for your extension.

It might not be for you if you don't find this helpful or convenient. His extension simply eliminates the extra click from going another tab/website and as well as typing the price manually just to see the price conversion. Doing another CoinmarketCap kind of website would simply defeat this purpose. Some people might find this useful as they don't have the same patience as what other's have.

@OP it would be better to show where you are basing your price from so users can double check if its accurate with what your source is showing.
