Loading deleted transaction in Electrum

Hey there,

I sent some BTC using the Electrum desktop wallet. However the fee was too low and the transaction got REJECTED from the mempool. In Electrum history tab, the transaction then appeared from "UNCONFIRMED" to "LOCAL". Electrum suggested that there is two options: Replace-by-fee or simply REMOVE the transaction. I removed the transaction with a thought that I will get back the BTC that I sent. Unfortunately, I did not get any BTC back.

Is it possible to load the transaction into ELECTRUM again somehow ??

If it doesn't show the old balance then try to resync by closing your Electrum and open it again. If it still doesn't work try to turn your internet/wifi off then open it again.

Anyway, your transaction is 10sat/byte I think you can try to submit it to https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator? to speed up the transaction. If this doesn't work for a couple of hours and the above suggestion doesn't work then your last option is to rebuild the transaction.

You will need this tool https://coinb.in/#newTransaction then paste the TXID and load. Now change the transaction fee use the recommended fee from this link https://mempool.space/

After you submit, copy the raw transaction and import it to Electrum and then sign and broadcast the transaction.

You successfully broadcasted your transaction but it was stuck due to the low fee according to the current mempool weight.

The possible solution is to double spend the funds for that you simply create another transaction with much higher fee so this transaction will be replaced by the new one.

It's not possible.
Some block explorers round the fee rate to the nearest whole number. The exact fee rate of the transaction in question is 9.542 sat/byte.

When I post my TXID into Coinb.in, I am able to load the transaction succesfully with all the addresses. However, when I click "Submit" I get a massage saying "One or more input or output is invalid". The "Inputs" tab is flashing in a red color.

I am pretty sure that my BTC is lost. Or am I wrong?

Try connecting to a different server.

I just imported the sending address of your transaction into a electrum watch-only wallet. It didn't show the outgoing transaction. I changed the server and the transaction appeared.
This should work for you too.

Click on "Tools" at top of the window and then select "network".
Right-click on one of connected nodes from the list you see there and select "Use as server". If the transaction didn't appear or it appeared but as a local transaction, try another server.

Just make sure to increase the transaction fee to speed up your transaction and to reject your old transaction.

That is because a blockexplorer won't be able to tell which of the outputs is the recipient address and the change address (the latter belongs to your wallet).
blockchain.com's "amount sent" is always based from all the outputs.

Are you sure about this? Upon deleting a local transaction, the input(s) it used should be available for the next transaction that you'll make.
So your previous balance will be displayed like it was before you sent the removed local transaction.
There won't be any inbound transaction that'll return your balance.

Check 'Coins' tab (View->Show Coins) if this input is available:

Electrum cannot sign transactions from Coinb.in. Importing the unsigned raw transaction will result in Electrum showing it as signed. Besides, I can't really recommend anyone trying to modify the fees themselves, it is very easy to accidentally include too much fees.

As for OP's issue, I agree with the assessment above. If the transaction is spending funds from your wallet, removing the transaction would result in the wallet showing that it has never been spent and thus you can spend it again. It is just strange that the Bitcoins aren't available to be spent again.

Indeed, the transaction now suddenly appeared as "UNCONFIRMED" in my history tab.

I will just simply wait if the fees go down in a few days and then use the "Increase the fee" function. Good thing is that the BTC is not lost after all.

I believe that this issue is likely caused by the transaction being dropped from the mempool of the Electrum server you are currently connected to, but still being available in others.

Your transaction was visible on a number of block explorers (but not all), which indicates that some nodes had dropped/purged it... and others had not.

If it happens again in the future, you can try:

1. Connecting to a different Electrum server to see if it can "find" your missing transaction
or
2. Shutdown Electrum, delete the blockchain_headers file from the Electrum data directory and then restart Electrum
or
3. Try restoring your wallet from seed to force a recheck of all the data

For now... waiting is probably the best thing you can do... However, even with fees dropping quite a bit the last 24 hours, given the current state of the network... I still don't fancy your chances with only a 9.5 sats/vbyte fee Undecided

You're most likely going to need to try and use RBF at some point.

This is the most logical explanation as to why the transaction disappeared from the wallet's history then reappeared as unconfirmed. The only thing that doesn't make sense is why the balance wasn't adjusted when he removed the local transaction!

@op, you can lose your coins only if you send them to a wrong address or when you lose access to your wallet (or someone steals it). An unconfirmed transaction will either get confirmed and the coins will be sent to recipient or it will get dropped and you can spend it again.
