Hi people
i've just started mining on my PC for a few days and i think i would like to up my game. This is what i want to do.
Here are some things that i want to achieve:
at least 20K$ a year profit
Not too loud. maybe under 60db. Under 50 would be so nice.

I'll be running it in my living room.
I currently have RTX 2080 TI on my PC and hashrate shows around 50MH/s. At this rate, Minerstat shows $114.45/month profit. with Ethermine pool.
So in order to make 20k$ a year, id need 18 of RTX 2080 TI or less with graphic cards with higher hashrate?
i don't know if the calculation is as simple as this.

I'm not so sure how loud it'll get with 12 graphic cards but overall size wise, it's doable for me.
I don't have a set budget but i'm thinking i can pull out about 6k$ now.

Thanks Smiley

At the moment you would be paying way too much for any gpus, RoI will be almost a year.
For us$6k in my country you would be lucky to get 4x 3070s for that money....
So that is like 63x4 mh/s or 252mh/s would use at least 625w even on the lowest you can go with good cards.
To make 20k clean profit after investment at this point you cant. Mining halving will kill any current RoI even more.

Edit: unless maybe you looked at CMP and got them way cheaper then gpus, which idk how you would with supply demands.

18x RTX2080ti in your living room is a bad idea, try building rig with RTX3080 or 3070, this will leave more room for space and better air flow, also energy efficiency if you paying for electricity bills but I'd warn you this isn't a good time to invest big money on gpus because they are way overpriced

ROI will be almost a year only if bull season stays that long, if bears take over the market anytime sooner it will take more than a year to get back your return of investment, this is why it's always a smart idea to buy your graphic cards at cheaper rate probably MSRP

The best ting is just keep mining what you have now. Smiley paying 4x for gpus is insane dont buy so expensive. If you find 50-80$ + msrp then go ahead buy as many as you wish but paying for same thing 4x money is insane.

Are you sure you just want to build a large rig and not a sauna to go along with it? Because that's exactly what your living room will turn into with all the equipment running. I'm not even laughing at your budget too, everyone knows current GPU prices and availability so you'll be lucky to get 3-5 cards for your money.

Get about 8 Rtx 3090 which are the most efficient cards and offer an hashrate of 115 Mhsh each as a minimum. If you are serious about investing in mining this is the best option. You can also keep it in your living room if your living room is large enough and you buy a mining board with 8 Pciex 16 built in slots so you don't use any riser.

The profit is temporary and always change so keep this in mind before diving deep and investing.

3080s are better IMHO. 3090 has 20% more hashrate but uses almost 30% more power.

You are right also RTX3090 will need some serious cooling to continue mining with the cards without any worries because of memory temp, RTX3080 is still a better option here over RTX3090

See how Ethereum hash rate grows.
https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate
You will not be able to receive permanent income from mining, because the situation can change quickly.
New ASICs will appear, the price of Ethereum will drop.
For 6 thousand dollars you will buy only half of the mining farm Smiley 3-4 video cards.

Well it looks like buying any GPU that has over 35 mh/s is almost impossible at retail.
Are the ASICS that available now to purchase worth buying?
i'm guessing all the good ones are already sold out

The new ASIC miner E9 isn't available yet and to get those this delivered to your doorstep? So help me God, anyways it's better to wait and see how things play out, I've sold half of my GPU builds in past weeks just incase and now I'm focusing on something fresh and new

i'm just gonna go with GPU set up actually.
i went ahead and bought a few 3070 GPUs. I'll buy more to have 6 of them.

Along with those,
Intel Xeon L5630 2.13GHz SLBVD 12MB LGA1366 Quad Core Processor MATCHING PAIR
Supermicro X8DTE Dual Socket 1366 E-ATX Motherboard DDR3 SATA2 w/ I/O Shield
Both are refurbished/used. like $60 for both.
Do you guys think this is the best combo?

Did you check how many cards your motherboard can handle? That's the first question you should ask when choosing rig hardware.

Go to manufacturers site, open full specs for your MB and carefully check pcie slots parameters. there will be your answer.

Why Intel Xeon L version? Are you planning to use the motherboard for something else? If no then go for Intel Pentium CPU, they are the cheapest since you won't be needing the CPU horsepower

I guess he just found a good deal and bought it. Gen 2 Celeron alone now costs more than $60, if you manage to find it...
