AFAIK the period given was long enough for long hodlers to be aware of the swap.

And at the moment you realized it's too late, you can reach their respective devs and see if they can able to work something. I've remembered in Icerock, there was a swap into IceRockv2 and I was 6 months late. The devs still allow the swap but it takes time.

Do you coordinate already with the devs the moment you realized that you are now hodling useless tokens?

i have tokens that have swapped but im lucky that i sold them when they are pumping . lessoned learned is we dont need to wait for too long when we hold a token because we dont know what future awaits to them  . either they will dumped hard or they will swapped to a newer version leaving our old coins useless

we need to sell when we already gained some profit and practice monitor thier groups and bitcointalk amm thread if they have so that we are aware if what are the plans of the owner

That will happen if you take the right decision and when you sell the price has increased and after all that ends the coin acts useful. I also had the same experience with selling coins that had a very high price and now become junk that is not so valuable.

Yes, that's a good idea. We must always track the progress of the project, they will release statement regarding what are their future plans or even they will about to be close. Downloading tracking app allows us to monitor our tokens and give some fundamental analysis when to buy or sell. I also have still atlant in my wallet, and I'm not happy about how they execute their payment after they required KYC in distributing token, I didn't recieve after that. Now the price is low, and it's not worth the time I spend joining them but I still lucky that I be able to get profit to them. I'm still blessed and thankful not everyone get paid.

I guess I must need any android app to make me informed all the times.

To say reality this have happened to me too, extremely quite a while past when I was still new to crypto and blockchain tech, this is something typical to happen to most amateurs and later as time passes by they will learn, it's actually similar to attempting to sort out which task is the awesome put away cash on and which venture is a trick, crypto exercises can't be learning in a day.

I doubt it. Maybe if the developers use it for crucial updates as well but that is unrealistic. The only thing you can do is follow the channels that those developer teams use for communication. Set the alarm for thread updates. Other than that, I know too well what it means to not follow a project or the thread for a longer period of time and then you come back and poof, swap and money is gone because you missed a short notice deadline.

unfortunately it happened to me too, i wanted to do a long term hold strategy and i have not followed the market every day (which should always be done) and i have lost the announcements of various swapps and now i find myself with useless tokens, worthless that  can not even be moved anymore in particular i am talking about aeternity and nxps, we must always be careful we risk losing a lot of money

Well for you, OP. I am not aware of those coins you held, but for sure it wasn't that coin that would last overnight anyway. Take a lesson that a lot of altcoins aren't for long-term holding.
It could be because they're pump and dump, hyped coins, or simply just shit project making shitcoins.

Have you tried to contact the team about the old token ? They should not limiting the dead line of the swap.
And, you should pay attention of the project you invest man, you will never know if something good or bad happening in the future.
On every coins i invest, i usually get into their social medias such telegram group, twitter, etc so i know what is going on and keep updated.

I'm not familiar about MZI (possible that is a shitcoin) but I'm familiar with NPXS and I tried to buy it before the swap but I made a last minute decision not to.

If I remember correctly, there is a specific timeframe of swapping these tokens although there are some that gives the holders unlimited time to swap most of them just sets a specific time frame where the holders can swap it. Maybe there is a mistake of the developers with their ruling but as a token holder, you must be updated on what is going into the project. Why did you bought the token at first place if you will just store it and will not be updated. Its the mistake of the OP too not monitoring and not updating himself with the token he is holding.

Now for those token holders out there, be updated with the token that you are holding. Join their telegram and discord groups to get updated so that your tokens will not be useless.

I suggest you to add an informational notification from the official telegram of the project, I have seen the latest information about PundiX and I think some exchanges have provided information about it, never miss any information on the coins you hold, because from there you will get a chance to get more profit

It happened to me, good thing I open their telegram channel out of the blue and saw the swap. The reason why my tokens are not became useless, in fact I already sell it last february.

Thats why its a must to follow the social media sites of the coins/tokens you hold for updates and progress. Tokens can turn to shitcoins especially if they have no real use case, its quite risky. Hence much better to invest on well-established coins so you dont need to worry that it might delisted on exchanges and worse become useless.

Thats why its a must to follow the social media sites of the coins/tokens you hold for updates and progress. Tokens can turn to shitcoins especially if they have no real use case, its quite risky. Hence much better to invest on well-established coins so you dont need to worry that it might delisted on exchanges and worse become useless.

Maybe the developers could create more coins during the swap and put it into a trusted fund with a large multi signature requirement. Perhaps signatures from extremely trusted members on this forum. Those who miss deadline and come late have to pay a commission to those providing the multisignature services.

That way you don't have those issues with these absurdly short timelines that some people simply miss and then just lose their coins.

I would rather pay 10% commission than losing it all just because some developer decides I am late and now am left behind with empty hands.

Using tracker like blockfolio along won't help if we don't get any information about the project progress.
Token/coin swap is the most crucial event for investor because we could lose our coin/token if we missed the swap.

I once fell victim to this but I have corrected myself. I now have a different approach as I buy and then connect to project's group to feel what the pulse of the project is like. How does one even get to know if a project is going to dump if one doesn't follow them?

However, OP doesn't seem to be losing much with Moozicore (MZG) as the price currently stands abysmally at $0.00098658. To be frank, that token even looks abandoned as the last time it got updated was 22 days ago.

Not only advisable but seemingly mandatory. The difference is that in a stock market there is nothing you have to do when a stock split happens. It is automatically done by the portfolio manager or your bank. It should be the same in crypto if possible.

If someone isn't deeply into crypto but wants to get invested, that someone might have no idea about swaps and all the other terminology that is out there. Now you come and say that person shouldn't invest. Nah, we want people get involved right? So those of us who have an idea, at least a better than others should push for procedures that make it easier for others to understand and being able to follow up.

The token swaps into a new contract is just giving you the idea how much of a scam the project is.
It is also worse when it just has a very small window open for holders to make the swap.
It is a practice used 99% by scams that just want to make their shit token more relevant.
I remember this moozicore as having no potential at all, of course they would follow the recipe of swaping to a new contract.
