Streamity is a token which I considered almost dead after 2 years of holding but suddenly people started pumping it and then dev team went for swapping and right now it is trading in few exchanges with decent volumes. So, time to time watching all the coins/tokens you are holding will be effective regardless of you are assuming it is dead or active.

Definitely coinmarketcap is an effective way to monitor a coin/token and also we must follow the dev team in all possible social media so that we will get all latest news and events which will be helpful on deciding about our holding. Those shit projects are mostly not inside CMC, old coins that haven't got the chance being added to any decent exchange and still don't have any
updates from the team or already been abandoned.

Yesterday my friend was checking his old metamask wallets. He had a token that I wanted him to give me, it was totally worthless token that didn't had any value but I just wanted to use it for something else, a testing purposes thing basically (wanted to use that one because it had no value, wouldn't want to lose something that has value in a test). While he was looking for that one, he came across to one of his wallets that had something called "telcoin" or something, which apparently he bought around $75 worth a few years back, about 500 days ago or so, when he checked he saw that today the same thing now worths 3600 dollars instead!

So you are 100% right, it is always good to have a spread, not spend too much money on them of course, but when you have too many coins and tokens, sometimes they shoot in value after so much, the one that can wait earns the money.

Some projects will allow you to swap their tokens so you can contact them to know possible solutions. And this is a real problem if you wants to invest on shit coins in long term, you have to keep in touch with the project all the time if you don't want to lose your assets.

Yes I agree, indeed if we want to invest new coins for the long term it is better to continue to monitor the development of the project by joining their official social media.
It will be very helpful for investors to get the latest information from the project and prevent such a bad case from happening.
But it remains to be noted before starting an investment wiser we reset first for the type of coins that we will buy.

Nah i think thats pure your mistake, when you invested on something you need to check about the news Daily. I think it only took not more than 5 minute to check about that news like that you can just go into their telegram channel, next time you should be more carefull about something like this.

I'm sure that so many people made the same mistakes. We're always busy with our work, but these types of announcements cost us all the funds. So many people lost their credit ERC-20 tokens. Because the Ethereum transaction cost was so high, tokens must be sent to websites or some selected exchange. Intentionally, we missed this swapped, transaction cost is more than holding tokens.

Lesson learned now that if you want to hodl a token for long term you should still look on the progress and development of it from time to time because there are several reason that the developer consider to make the coin you are hodlings valuable. Just a tip don't uninstall your telegram to get updated as well as visit their official website time to time to be updated.

Yes, the market is always changing so you have to try to know the updated information of the market. If the market is not analyzed properly it is not possible to know when the price of a currency is changing. Actually it is npxs not nxps. Anyway you always need to monitor daily the news channel of crypto you are holding e.g their telegram channel, or discord to keep you updated about whats going on about the project. Sometimes our telegram account flooded with many telegram groups and channels of different crypto projects and it make us distracted or confused. But telegram has a feature  of adding chat folder. You can add only important channels/groups on that folder you want and not missed important announcements.

I also experienced this kind of situation when I handled a token swace(SWA) then I told myself to hodl it long termly then get back atleast a year sadly when I go back to look on the development and progress of swace token they change their token symbol and contract address from being SWA to SWACE. Now because of this experienced I totally learned that keep in touch with your hodlings time to time to be updated.

True and I believe it is unwise to totally not follow up on what the news is for the crypto projects that you are holding because if I can guess right, most time before swaps, this information must have been put out for weeks and month some times by the project owners and for this to happen was that it was totally neglected for too long.

To say the least this is an exaggeration. Even if you buy a house or an apartment that you rent out what is the likelihood that you check it on a daily basis? Nobody usually does that. I see your point as crypto is changing gears so fast based on most recent news, but I stick to the fact that a swap should never lead to you losing your investment.

As far as I am concerned, changes to the smart contrac cannot be arbitrary to be able to migrate. There are things that need to be considered because definitely the deposit on the exchange will change if you use your own blockchain. a lot of consideration by the team before making that decision. I myself have observed so many projects and many of them were successful and also failed afterwards

In most cases the old chain is just dead after a swap and you can't send anything. It depends if you have to send your coins to a burn address in order to get the swapped coins or if a snapshot is taken and you have to provide a wallet for the new coin. In the latter case there are two ways to go about it. Some projects sent the swapped tokens directly to your old wallet and deactivated the old contract (only possible for tokens). There is nothing you need to do, great. If a snapshot is taken and you have no idea because you weren't around you could lose your old (but anyway worthless) coins by sending them to an exchange deposit address if someone is still mining on that chain and confirming blocks. What some projects to though is they distribute it manually, give you a deadline and if you miss that it is over. That is disgusting in my eyes.
