Buying and hodling coins as a form of investment for future children is a very nice idea. It's actually a way of securing the future for the kids just like we buy shares on their behalf.
In the choice of coins to buy, I believe bitcoin remains the best coin to buy. The rise in the price of bitcoin is relatively gradual as compared to many of those altcoins that just rise in price all of a sudden and dump heavily. If bitcoin continues to rise steadily as it has been rising in the last few years with corrections here and there, imagine what it would be in the next 5 to 10 years.
Just buy some bitcoin now and hodl for the children.

I think you should get the timing right to make long-term investments. wait for the price to drop.

As a suggestion, invest in coins that have a strong base such as BTC and ETH. If you want a new crypto, choose a crypto that has high prospects.

only trusted coin is the best one to invest for the future of our kids such the those listed on top 10 in the market, it's actually highly recommended to buy and hold for everyone as its has good team behind wherein surely will never last even we say for how many years of hodling.

Don't ever try to buy and hodl a new projects although its very promising because mostly cant succeed. So be practical and always choose the projects / coins that is worth it to hodl such what u have mentioned above.

The only problem that I see is we aren't certain if crypto would really be with us forever.
We don't know if when the time has come and our kids needed the funds we had saved for them on crypto those crypto would still be valuable.

If you were looking for a long-term investment plan, then just go for starting coins with a promising project like altcoins. To be aware and clear about investing in bitcoin.  Let's go into the history of Bitcoin.  Bitcoin has been through doubts and barriers, it has grown in terms of value for use, and efficiency for humans.

As with any other investment, there's a chance you lose it all or lose some of the money you've invested. It's always a risk. However, you can reasonably reduce the risk by investing in cryptos which are most popular and by investing not only in Bitcoin, but also a couple of other coins that have been around for a while and seem solid. What's good is that you can always change your mind, so if the circumstances change and some coins becomes less credible, you can sell it and buy something different instead. But for now, Bitcoin seems to only be growing and popularity, and it definitely didn't reach the limit of its potential because only around 1.5% of the global population currently use it. So it's not a bad shot.

As you mentioned that bitcoin is the mean of investment for a certain's individual's future children, as long as the price of it keeps moving upward, there will surely be an assurance that the future of the kids will be well-secured. There's nothing wrong relying your future in bitcoin but in any case, you should not fully depend on it alone. You should still find other instruments like businesses and a regular job to make sure that even when bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies experience sudden downfall in the near future, you don't need to worry because you have other saving that will suffice your family's needs.

If afraid to waste money, saving in bank can be alternative. Or maybe deposito. I think people who bought crypto with their own reason must already know what risk to hold it. Because no one know actually in future what can be happen in crypto and bitcoin itself.

Brilliant idea to invest your coins and harvested by your grandchildren. it is a good step for me for the future but you should not focus too much on virtual currencies. If you have sufficient funds you should invest your money in gold and land that is real and visible to your children later. It will also be useful later that the price of gold and land will continue to grow every year. you can see a continuous increase in the price of land and gold. but you should take these 2 decisions.

That's a good idea. Savings of bitcoin for future of your kids is quite good. Just hold even small amount of satoshi (If you can't hold big) for a long term is really profitable as long as bitcoin continue to grow. But not possible that bitcoin will continue to grow in the coming years because of continuously increasing demand of it with a limited supply.
