Path to Altseason

Alt season is a function of the market due to new participants flooding into crypto around the same time .This is usually triggered by the BTC mining supply halving every 4 years (which causes a surge in price) or a sudden loss of faith in centralized fiat currencies. The duration of the phases are parabolic in nature meaning Phase 1 takes the longest & Phase 4 goes the fastest. Phases overlap & can temporarily reverse before continuing but we always end up at the mania of Al t season . It's  likely there are multiple Al t seasons per crypto bull cycle of varying degrees. The biggest one being after the end of bitcoin's bull run when the largest number of participants enter the markets.

Phase 1: Bitcoin

Money Flow
- Flow of money moves into Bitcoin causing prices surges
Phase      - Money flows into Ethereum but it struggles to keep up with Bitcoin
Overlap   - Ethereum goes back and forth with bitcoin and starts outperforming it

Phase 2: Ethereum

Money Flow :
-Ethereum is outperforming Bitcoin and we hear talks of the flippening
Phase Overlap - Money is flowing into large caps where we see large buy ups happening

Phase 3: Large Caps

Money Flow :
Ethereum has been outperforming Bitcoin and large caps are going parabolic
Phase Overlap - Regardless of market cap, some altcoins with strong fundamentals are having pumps

Phase 4: Altseason

- Large caps have gone full vertical and we're seeing blow off tops
- Mid caps, low caps, micro caps all tend to pump around the same time
- Large caps have been outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum
- It seem every coin is going parabolic regardless of fundamentals
- Meme's are everywhere, everyone is super excited and you feel the mania in the air

Has not altcoin season been starting since last year? I can't believe if that cycle was true. An altcoin is still growing when bitcoin is very stable. We didn't see any increase happened with bitcoin since ethereum has been growing so much. TBH it's quite difficult to determine whether we have entered the altcoin or not.

Bull run is already occurring. The question here is until when, market will definitely go down but everybody keeps on grinding like theis season would never end. Almost all the project have been hit their new ATH even the old ones. So literally we already surpass the previous bull run and this time it's not bubble cause many institutional players that are going in too.

because btc dominance has gone down now, i think now is the time for altseason and most people also assume that, but still can't say that because btc is also still stable and sometimes goes up.Maybe the next 1 or 2 months to be the determinant.

For me, the main criterion for the start of the altcoin season is the fact that the price of altcoins begins to increase not only in relation to the dollar, but also in relation to BTC. But if we look at the ETH/BTC pair, we will see that it is still very far from the maximum values of the altcoin price.

I am aware of this phases as you mentioned them OP but i am not sure if they are still correct for the current market anymore. I mean it all started with a strong bitcoin performance a few months ago. Than we had the Defi-Hype with a lot of new and small projects doing x50 or even more while most of the big projects like IOTA, NEO or DASH had almost no movement at all and those coins have still not reached their old ATH from 2018 while others like ETH tripled their ATH from that time. Now in the last weeks ETH pumped in a big way and of course Doge is pumping again which i would have never expected because it already pumped a few weeks ago. So those cycles you mentioned are not always correct.

The altcoin season already starts this year as we see many altcoins can increase and lift the price. Some altcoins can double their price and make a new ATH, but the other altcoins need more time to start. The altcoin season is not yet to end and will still increase this year, while bitcoin price can still increase later. I believe it is safe to say that we shouldn't Waite for a particular time to consider as the Altcoin season because most Alts have really had a good run since even back as January and are still performing well now. Am afraid if we keep waiting for Alt season we might miss the market if we are already in it and less dont forget that the market situation now is different from before.

Agreed, So many big companies and banks were seeing crypto as a potential way to offer the digital service. The adoption will be starting very soon. The price of crypto and bitcoin are very stable at this moment.
Im sure that the season can change anytime. That depends on the trend that happened in the crypto market.
CBDC can enter to the crypto. There are lots of crypto companies already prepared for that to happen very soon.

And it is not totally Altseason but Mass adoption , because Seasonal Market flow means nonsense for me and what we need is a real movement and not manipulated like what does happen since then.

I guess the altcoin has started early, even at bitcoin's peak some of the major alts is moving vertically and establishing all time high. And currently, bitcoin's dominance has been slash to less than 50%, the same numbers when alts started its run in 2017. I would argue it is the opposite, the price of bitcoin stabilizes because people think its price is too high and they slowly but surely prefer to invest in altcoins, this makes the price of bitcoin even more stable and it definitely marks the beginning of an altcoin season, however people need to be careful as the price of altcoins can easily crash and this could be the case as sooner or later people will want to convert their profits back to fiat or bitcoin and they will leave altcoins behind and many retail investors will lose their money when they try to hold their altcoins not realizing that holding altcoins is most of the time a mistake.

The question now should be when is the altcoins season ending, if anyone is still asking when is the altcoins season begining then that person must have been in the dark. Alt season started late last year and it continued into this year. Already we have seen different alts doing impressive numbers and other old coins recording new highs.

Investing in altcoins now should be very strategic as no one knows when the corrections will start coming in. We're in the last stage that's if there'll be more to come which probably will take us into year end.
