They might be looking at how much the domain is worth (eg for exit scamming)...

They'll be able to change the redirection whenever they want.

From what I got from StuffGate, these are pretty much being done/used for almost 2 years.  Some were just recent like btcointalk which was just created almost 3 months ago, so I guess these are still being done these days to mislead users.
Just like what TryNinja said, they're being used for quick bucks as well.
Another one that I got based on the referral links was Bitointalk.

Seems like the 2 domain were owned a single user base on the ref link.
These domains are cheap wondering if they can still referred user using this method.

If you take a look at the dnstwister site, you’ll se a whole range of similarly named domains, some of which lead to Binance+ref, but others take you other sites without and explicit referral code (I’ve just tried a few, and one led to Kraken, while another to Localbitcoins), building up traffic perhaps.

Damn, I hate so much those wwwdomain websites, at least those are harmless...I guess.
The redirects I've checked are indeed pointing to legit exchanges but probably it's a matter of time till some that point to phishing pages would pop up also, once the referral money starts going down some might be tempted to change the income "source".

Binance probably has more important domains to secure, with tons of possibilities of randomizing characters they would probably have to spend hundred of thousands to keep phishing websites away from their own business. Besides, doing such a thing would come with a backlash from the community, too much trouble for a way too little revenue gain.

They'll be able to also replace the website with a phishing clone of Binance or Bitcointalk.
So I'd be more wary about this. Even if it's harmless once, it can too easily turn evil.

Let me tell you something about this fake bitcointalk domains that are redirecting you to Binance exchange, they are all coming from China for sure, by the guy called Jack li Shandong.
This domains are even purchased at the same date and time, and he is forum member or he knows that bitcointalk is world's most popular crypto forum, and he probably have more purchased domains.

I don't think it was a clever idea to get referrals from binance. When anyone mistypes to access bitcointalk forum, his intention is not to make an account on binance but to use the forum. So why would anyone be creating accounts on redirection ?
He should have used domains like bnance, inance etc to fool the people, if he had some common sense.

Who cares if they’re being used for referrals? Is that illegal or nefarious? Someone bought a domain and setup a referral link… There’s got to be worse behavior to want to stop on the internet. I doubt even Binance would care this is happening. If they were trying to steal logins or something I could understand, but a referral… We’re talking about a referral? Referrals? Not an actual scam, but a referral? (Shoutout to Allen Iverson)
