Imagine you have hired an article writer. You asked him to write a nice article of 1500 words for your beauty blog. You agreed to pay him a nice commission for that. A few hours later you receive the article, and you read it and tell yourself it's a nice job. You pay the writer and upload the article on your blog. Two days later you discover that your blog got reported, and the search engine penalized your domain because the article was a plagiarized article. How would you feel?
I think this is exactly what my employers feel when they discover the bounty hunters were cheating in their campaigns. There are good hunters and there are those bad hunters. Good thing is that these bad hunters are not many but unfortunately these hunters think that they are the smarter one in the planet. And sometimes they go too much because of their over confidence.
Recently I am in campaign management (
click here for my service thread) and while I am managing a few campaigns I have already seen how they do it. In a Facebook, Twitter, telegram, blog or any other content writing type campaigns some of them basically copy and paste someone else's content and expect to get paid. Some get caught, but some manage to get paid, unfortunately. When these bounty cheater gets paid this is an injustice to the hunters who are genuinely giving their time, injustice to the employer, waste of money from the project budget. Eventually it's a bad name for this community too.
In my campaigns I do not want to compromise with bounty cheaters who have no work ethics. I simply do not want to give them any room. It's very hard for me and my small team to monitor every single hunters especially spotting those cheaters all the time. So I have decided to work together with some experts from the community who are good at policing on bounty hunters. Who are good at spotting plagiarism or any kind of unethical benefit the hunters are taking.
If you are the guy then please turn on the notification of this thread because after every bounty week of a project I manage when the report is done I will post the report link in this thread and will ask your help to find the cheater on that given spreadsheet.You will jump in and find the users who had done bad but still managed to get stake (payment). In return, you will be rewarded with half of the awarded stake (BTC or native token or whatever the project payment method is) and the rest of the stake will go back to the employer of the project. The bounty cheater get nothing, they get listed on
this list, and finally they get banned. I think this is how we can take the control back from bounty cheaters.
Please remember that when a user is already listed on
this list you do not need to look for them any more because they already marked as spammer and is not getting paid.
Few rules just to make sure more than one bounty police do not claim the same reward:
- Only one post with maximum 5 cheaters with proper reference of their wrongdoing. Please do not list anyone without a valid proof/reference.
- First claimer gets paid. What I mean is - say cheater X got caught and police A has him on his list. Police B can not claim the reward for cheater X again.
- If the cheater is already listed on
this list then you do not get any reward.
- You can not edit the post you make with the list of the cheaters
- After you, if there are more police posted their list and if you find that there are more cheaters but no one still spotted them then you can make another new post (unedited) with again max 5 cheaters.
- After you, if there are no more police made any post in half an hour then you can make a new post with again max 5 cheaters on the list.
I think this should be enough to avoid any kind of mess.
