So they buy a coin or token and wait a while to see it pump but after a while their expectations are not met they give up easily and want to sell it off and so lack of patience is what create a panic sell in some cases. Another causes is the volatility of the market: Also, newbies who are not familiar with the cryto space get afraid of losing all their money when there is a fall in the price of a token or coin due how fast the falling can be, So they calculate instead of loosing all the money, let me sell and atleast recover so money and so when they sell, then unfortunately they see a reversal. Lols. Also most people are afraid of the market making a deep. So these can be causes for panic sell.

Even during panic sell, there are equal no of people who are buying coins at lower price (somebody selling means somebody buying). BTC recently collapsed to 32k$ before reverting back to 50k$. There are buyers who bought BTC at 32k$, when everyone was selling in panic.
