I'm with you ... and while I await the launch of the new season of the Premier League predictions, this is a great idea for me to pass the time!

No problem, I will probably start collecting money 2 weeks before first match and I'll shoot the PM to all the people on participants lists who do not make a deposit in the first week or clearly state they will not be part of this pool.

if true, this could bring strange results, teams will play on the fields that they do not know, probably without audience, and it will be difficult to prepare for the tournament

Of course, if the Copa America tournament is moved from Argentina at such short notice, and out of South America altogether, it would mean that a lot of logistical plans would have to be changed.

That would take extra time, and that could mean the tournament being pushed back a few weeks. On the face of it this makes sense.

I'm not sure about that, Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana are currently underway (group stage). I had a few bets last night as River Plate, Racing Club, and Newell's Old Boys all had games...

Fans can attend games in pretty large numbers if the tournament is held in the USA, plus the Copa America Centenario was a huge success when it was held across the United States of America in the summer of 2016.

The only advantage of moving games away from South America is that there may be more fans, as i didn't see any last night. They still don't know what to do @CONMEBOL with two and a half weeks left, huh?

I think it's not easy to move tournament to other location when there is just few week left. But when we live in such crazy times, it's difficult to get surprised.
I think for teams it's not big deal if tournament will be moved to USA. And it's not likely that tournament would be held without spectators. If you watch NBA playoffs or other sports from USA, now they allow spectators and not small numbers. For example, New York Knicks allow to fill up to 75% of arena capacity if I'm not mistaken.

It seems to me that this is not such a significant problem, given that in this situation, the conversion will need to be performed only once.

The best to do now is to send with the lowest (reasonable) fee that you can afford, the competition doesn't underway until mid June which is enough time for it to get confirmed, provided you'll not be needing to make another transaction from the same input/ouput.

that's way too much. I sent a tx earlier today with 40 sats fee, like 3 bucks, and got confirmed in 1 hour    you could go as low as 5-10 sats and it'll get confirmed within 24h or so

Easy way to cut transaction costs in half if you are playing both this pool and EURO pool is that you pair up with the buddy and one of you pays fees for both of you in Copa and the other one pays fees for both of you in Euro. Ok, count me in here as well. I see the rewards really are great, my only downside is that outside of the top 4 teams I probably don't know more than 3 players per team.
At least I'll follow Copa this season then, I usually skip it until the semifinals.

agree, just sent a fee for the pool, with 3 sats, and it is expected to be confirmed within next block
if you are planning to join the competition, it is probably the best time to pay the fee

regarding third part of the competition, since there are two groups on the Copa, maybe guessing number of goals per group in group stage could be nice to have (player/team to have highest number of goals on the competition could be everyone guessing the same)

Per sponsorship deal we will get additional free bet on weekly basis awarded to winner of that mini competition. So it is only logical that we have a winner once per week. Idea is good but I'll have to check when the games are finishing to see if it is feasible. I will probably lean towards something with shorter time frame.


Edit: what' s up with all this Uruguay supporting? I expected to see Brazil and Argentina supporters and then all our early birds went for Uruguay I guess Suarez and Cavani have a good chance to open any defense even if they have a lot of years on their back.

actually, for me it is Forlan time that draws me to Urugvay, and I when sign up to cheer for some team, it is usually long-term commitment (shit, I am still Auxxere fan, and rarely follow Ligue1)
for Brasil and Argentina, I was up to Brasil since 90-ties, but more recently, it is equal, do not have any preference between the two

I also like Uruguay. I felt in love with this team in 2010 World Cup. I remember that Diego Forlan was amazing then. And that 1/4 final with Ghana was one of the most memorable games I ever saw. Suarez handball on last minute and missed penalty by Gyan. I also feel sympathy for Uruguay because it's small country with little population - underdogs against Brazil or Argentina.

I also cheering for Uruguay, i think everyone wants them to win is because they always shine in this competition.
as they are leading in the alltime winners with 15 titles followed by Argentina 14 titles and  Brazil with 9.
i see them favorites to win because it could be the last time that for Cavani and Suarez to help their county winning one more trophy despite they are still firing all cylinders.
other contenders like Brazil and Argentina on paper they have better chances but they are not very convincing sometimes.
