Hello,

I currently use 2 x GTX 1660 and 1 x GTX 1080 Gaming X for mining.

Both GTX 1660 run with GDDR5 and 5000 MHz and the GTX 1080 GDDR5X with also 5000 MHz.

Now my only problem is that the GTX 1080 should actually reach 35 MH, but only gets 24.5 MH.

Can it be that my motherboard is too old and does not cope with the GDDR5X, because GDDR5 goes great.

Have the motherboard: ASRock FM2A88X Pro3+

You didn't mention what you are mining with the 1080 (if it's an altcoin, then you need to move this topic to mining (altcoins) section where there are people more familiar with GPU mining).

On cards with GDDR5X memory you need to increase the memory timings. Current ETH miners have a configuration parameter to do this automatically. With Pascal GPU's in PhoenixMiner you use the -straps 2 command line option or in the miner config file.

Quote
-straps <n>
Memory strap level (Nvidia cards 10x0 and P10x series only). The
possible values are 0 to 6. 0 is the default value and uses the
default timings from the VBIOS. Each strap level corresponds to a
predefined combination of memory timings ("-vmt1", "-vmt2",
"-vmt3", "-vmr"). Strap level 3 is the fastest predefined level and
may not work on most cards, 1 is the slowest (but still faster than
the default timings). Strap levels 4 to 6 are the same as 1 to 3
but with less aggressive refresh rates (i.e. lower "-vmr" values).

The first way is you use a pill-OhGodAnETHlargementPill
and the following settings
Windows: core +50 memory +450 power limit 75-80
Hive Os: core 50 memory 900 power limit 165
and activate the pill

Or use straps in the miner.
I have a tablet activated in Hive OS

in Rave OS you will also find this option in the settings
