Well, my parents never really cared about my computer hours, I just spent all of my life in front of a computer and now I am working in front of a computer thanks to that, I also gambled when I was way too little, shouldn't have done that, but I at least learned about it, everything I learned about in life was my parents saying "go ahead and give it a try" basically, whenever it hurt me I realized it myself, and whenever I loved it then they started to consider if it is a good thing or not, and allowed me to pursue my dreams.

Yeah, I am a bit older than Z generation that is true, but I am only one decade older than them and I have been having the best time of my life since their age all because I learned life by experiencing it and having my parents back me up with whatever I decide, if I failed I know that I could always trust them with help, not just money (although of course parents do pay for their kids) because I usually did free stuff on computer, maybe buying the computer? that could count but also psychologically always being there was the main thing.

Although the people of the world are under house arrest due to the epidemic, they are involved in various online based activities. They're trying to adjust themselves with various gaming, betting and gambling site with incoming but they don't know they are becoming a real gambler.

It's not house arrest, staying at home is the key to be protected and won't be a potential carrier. It's done by everyone to stay safe and we can't do anything with that and even you have received full shots of the vaccine, it's still recommended to stay at home.
And this isn't just an epidemic but a global problem for this disease and called a pandemic. As everyone stayed at home for long and will keep staying, it is true that it's an adjustment that everyone has to be done because we don't know how long this pandemic will stay and and when it will end.

I really didn't feel much of a problem since my job was from home (I am a freelancer) and I do not like to go outside. However my wife on the other hand was a teacher when this all started, she resigned from work last summer, and have been staying at home all this year, combine that with the fact that she likes to go outside for any reason at all (it doesn't have to be for fun, she literally likes to go buy groceries, anything outside of the house is fun for her) this year made her quite crazy.

I do not even have the money for it (some bad projects I started causing me to lose all my savings) made vacation nearly an impossible situation but seeing how distressed she was, I am going to go into debt and still go to a small one week vacation this year, I can pay it later on in installments anyway.

So, even though we say it is for our health, sometimes mental health overcomes the fear of pandemic, there are many like my wife that reached a certain level where they may say "I rather take the risk of getting infected and still go outside just to keep my sanity" and that is in hundreds of millions at this point.

Only few corporate bodies or organisations still keep to it. Not that life has gone back to normal or there is a proper vaccination in place but then, people just can't take it no more. But it's difficult because the internet has a lot of things to see, and I'm pretty sure he'll find gambling eventually. The internet provides us with useful information, particularly for children, and makes research easier than it was in the past, when books were the only reliable source. The only thing we need to do is discipline them and teach them the do's and don'ts of the internet; I believe they will understand if they learn more about it. The fact that they have no idea about gambling makes them even more curious, so teach them and give them plenty of time.

Everyone has adjusted to working at home, those jobs that can be done through computers and by working at home. But there's a labor force that cannot be sent home and it has to be in the premises of the company. I don't know but most of them are required to go to their job and company for the production or any type of work that has that kind of setup. And for your wife, I'm sure that many of the teachers have adopted online too, even if many of them are not really on this setup, there are now online classes. If you're going into debt then don't add another problem that might caused you like in gambling, do not gamble if you're already in that trouble.

That is not the only reason, you must understand that people were under a lot of pressure during this pandemic because of the lockdowns that we have to go through and many people were not ready to face such a long time being isolated from each other, so they needed to find a way to deal with that and many people choose to find new ways to entertain themselves that could only be done from the comfort of their own homes and online gambling was the answer for some of those people.

Gambling is however another issue where addicted people are always losing and trying to recover their loses.

People can get addicted to tiktok, its because it only requires 5 second attention span and its set to music so its a pretty sure winning formula.   They get giant viewing figures and its probably very profitable advertising in that demographic but it could also be described as addictive in that particular way.   Anything at all that normally is fine even healthy can become a negative if repeated without reason, eating obviously can result negatively if overdone even exercise.   I've heard of a medal winner reducing themselves below 1% body fat till they wore even their heart muscle out and stressed themselves into an early grave in their twenties just from constant exercise and the endorphins that gives can be addictive.
   Addiction is certainly not the exclusive domain of gambling and drinking, its best to learn to step away and do other things on most activities imo
