Doge scammers take advantage of SNL to scam people on YouTube

I could not believe scammers are this so wise, they easily take advantage of Saturday Night Live (SLN) Musk appearance to scam people Doge worth of $5 million. It is very possible people that know little about scam can be scammed this way if care is not taken. I have been reading about Musk post recently which made me reluctant to create this thread but I think it will be very helpful for people not to believe anything on social media and any site like YouTube that scammers always use to steal from people.

Here's how the scam worked, according to the report
During the "SNL" telecast, viewers who searched for "Elon Musk SNL" on YouTube could see livestreams that seemed to be hosted by the NBC show but were actually run by scammers, the report said.

The livestreams publicized links to unique websites that viewers could visit to receive dogecoin.
A message on the broadcasts said: "Elon Musk has devoted 500,000,000 DOGE to be distributed to all DOGE holders. Anybody can get some, just visit the website." This was perhaps somewhat believable, as many of Musk's followers expected the billionaire's "SNL" appearance to pump the digital asset. Users were asked to transfer dogecoin to a blockchain address with the assurance that they would receive double the amount they sent.

Some people sent it and were scammed.

On Saturday May 8th, 2021, Elon Musk hosted Saturday Night Live (SNL). Scammers leveraged Elon Musk's appearance to run crypto giveaway scams, netting at least 9.8M DOGE, worth approximately $5M USD at the time of the scam.

Some scammers would even buy channels that have a lot of subscribers to make it look legitimate. I can quite recall that there was a Binance fake channel in Youtube that does a ETH Giveaway Scam with a livestream playing as well and it was taken down already, I believe.

I can't still believe that people fall for this doublers or 2x when you send a certain amount of coin.
Even in Facebook pages like Crypto News Flash, where I saw a lot of comment from fake page claiming to be them that they're doing BTC giveaway. What's worse is that they have fake figures/profile that are vouching them in the replies.

Additionally, he took advantage that new DOGE user who joined because of meme/Elon Musk don't have much experience and common sense.. While "send and receive 2x coin" isn't new technique, $5 million isn't a joke, you could retire from your job.

Only fool or ignorant people will truly fall for this scam, people that are greedy.

The reason I said the scammer (or the scammers are) is smart is because he uses the original livestream of Musk SNL with scam ads, if I am to be sincere, I have heard about the ones that uses celebrity accounts before and the one that were even on YouTube directly, but this original livestream of a thing with scam ad is new to me.

This also happens on major altcoins which scammers placed their ads on youtube about there scam giveaways, I don't know why youtube let this but I think reporting it direct to them will give a faster response.

Imagine how far can possibly reach if youtube will continue to accept this schemes and provably those scammers can victimize if this will not stop.

With new types of scams exposed each day hackers and scammers are finding unique and interesting ways to fool people.This time they took livestream on YouTube for committing such huge scam.In past also we have heard such double amount scams using celebrity social media accounts like Elon Musk in which one individual losses millions alone.Why would people fall in such types of scams and deposit their funds in fake address in hope of getting double or free coins?Only greed or it's their faith that Musk is really going to give them funds I don't know.This is what happens when you blindly follow some influential person and ends up loosing all your funds and he is making profits on his own out of your pockets.I don't know when people will understand and recognise these types of doublers and such scams.Sometimes People are ignorant and deposit their funds to some fake vanity address of renowned persons or institutions and then realised the wallets have been drained to scammers but they need to investigate properly before giving their funds as it is not reversible transactions.Be careful in this market of scammers.
