Need help about account

It has been a long time since I opened my account at BTT for about 3 years when I reopened my BTT account it was already banned even though I didn't do anything? What caused it? and is there a way to recover it,
if i have to start over where should i start? please enlighten my friends.

If your account has been permanently banned, then all your accounts are too (conceptually). Technically, you should move this thread to Meta, as it’s the only board you are allowed to post in in order to appeal or try to get a more thorough explanation. A ban applied to a person (and therefore to all past, present or future accounts created by that person).

If your account is fokus then use the "forgot password" option. It is not banned. Is this the account you are talking about ?

Regarding the rank up... write interesting and/or funny things and you will rank up eventually. Write useless posts and they will be reported and deleted. Pretty straight forward

In order to rank up, you'll need to have merits and activity. In summary, you slowly gain activity points for staying active and merits for making useful/helpful posts.

As for your old account, it may got compromised, at least if you don't remember what you did. I advice you to stake your address and be able to prove the ownership of your account in the future.

If not, this account will only be considered as ban evasion which can result to another ban.

Well the account you reference seems to be permanently banned, so that’s the only focus you should be having now, since as I mentioned before, you really can’t start over again coming from a permanently banned account.

What you can do is ask if someone is willing to provide you the reason for your ban (if you do not know it already), and see if there is ground for an appeal (usually very unlikely).

If portgas313 is your account then I believe it was banned due to PM spamming.

You don't seem to have understood what DdmrDdmr told you. You, as in the person, is banned from Bitcointalk. Not just your portgas313 account. The account fokuscomeback that you are using now, will also get banned for ban evasion if someone reports you.

The only think you can do is to try and get your original account (portgas313) unbanned by creating a new thread and appealing for the ban. If the reason is PM spamming, one of the admins might forgive you because a few years have already have passed since the incident. You will only know if you try.

I have a question in general.
OP told us that his original account is blocked and he wanted to start again with a new account which is obviously not allowed on the forum.

What if he didn't told us about this fact and start posting with a new account ? There is no way to tell then if a person was banned previously and now using a new account ?

If someone is banned already, he can open another account but most likely he will have the same posting style like that of the previously banned account(s), that is why it is not only the account that was banned, but the person that owns the account. Like if someone is a spammer and he is banned, he will most likely open another account and make the same mistake that will result to another (new account) ban.

File your appeal right here in Meta, and state exactly what account was banned. 

Do members get permabanned for PM spamming?  I thought only plagiarism was grounds for that, though I confess I have no idea what the penalty is for spamming.  I'm thinking that if the account wasn't banned for plagiarism, OP might have a shot at having it restored, but I'm not a moderator and I'm definitely not Theymos.

If you want any chance at reinstatement, OP, whatever you do don't create a new account and start using it to post outside of your ban appeal thread in Meta.  Ban evasion will get you a permaban on top of your permaban.

Fourth: Permanent ban

Your first ban is your first warning. If you have to be banned for a fourth time it is permanent and you will no longer be allowed to participate on the forum under any accounts. Note: If you are banned on one account then you are not allowed to post under any accounts you own for the duration of your ban. The only exception to this rule is Meta where you can discuss the circumstances of your ban if you wish to do so but anywhere outside of that sub will be considered ban evasion and will get your ban doubled, but it is generally best to just patiently wait out your ban and improve your posts on return and hopefully no further bans will be needed.
