Sorry, I know there's gotta be a lot of posts with similar topics, I just want to make sure my situation isn't unique.

I'm on the constant search for old wallets and have successfully found some.  They're all in Bitcoin core.  I've downloaded the complete wallet (360+GB) and copied my wallet.dat files into the appropriate folders.  The wallet shows there's (barely) funds... but when I go to do a transfer it gives the error "0/unconfirmed, not in memory pool."  I've read this is either due to do a unsynced wallet (which I'm confident is not the case after 2+ days of downloads) or a insufficient transaction fee.  At first, I sent with the bitcoin core recommended transaction fee and after an hour,I doubled it.  It's now been roughly 2+ hours and still nothing.  Am I missing something here? Is it really supposed to take this long?

Side note, I believe I'm sending from a legacy address to a segwit.

Thanks for your help!
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

At first, I sent with the bitcoin core recommended transaction fee and after an hour,I doubled it.

A current pretty good fee is 75-85 sat/vByte, from what I see on https://mempool.space/
I don't know what was the case when you made the transaction.
Maybe you can put your tx ID into blockchair.com and see more, or may be you post here your tx ID so we can see what we find out?

When you clicked send, did you get any sort of error message at all? If the transaction was not broadcast correctly, it should really having given you some sort of error message to explain why it was rejected.

A "too low fee" at the moment would not prevent the transaction from being broadcast... the mempool min fee rate is 1 sat/vbyte... which is also the minimum possible transaction fee rate. So, at worst, your transaction would just be "stuck"... but would still be in the mempool.

So, either your wallet file itself is not "synced" (even though your node might be fully synced with all blocks downloaded)... and it needs to be rescanned.

Try using the rescanblockchain command on the console... note that this could take an hour or 2 to complete and will likely render Bitcoin Core "unusable" while it is rescanning the wallet file.

And you may need to rescan each wallet file individually. Undecided

Are you sure that these coins are in your account after you synchronize? You might get wrong results if it doesn't sync correctly.
Are you sure that your transaction is sufficient to make a transaction? 546 Satoshis + transaction fee.
If so, copy your transaction ID and check it here --> http://blockchair.com/

Thank you for the responses!

- I checked the transaction ID on blockchair and unfortunately, there's nothing to be found.
- I also tried checking (i think) the right bitcoin address associated with the bitcoin core wallet and the balance is zero.  I looked up the "receiving addresses" under the waller.

I'm going to try rescanning the wallet later tonight.

This happens if isn't fully synchronized.

on window tab you will find receving address, how much address appear on that tab?. If you find some, go to the blockchair to check the balance.

or go to gui console and type: getbalances

or dumpprivkey and import to electrum.
