i believe it is only greed that will make someone lose such gains on their portfolio when compared to their entry prices.
In every other business model, people are used to taking profits, but why is it that greed doesn't allow crypto traders to take profits when their assets are doing well. You should consistently sell off when your holdings make certain price gains, no one has a magic globe to predict the market and if you dont take profits, you'll end up losing your gains

Sorry mate, but I can recall there were so many post made here, telling people to take profit of the bull market before a dump will happen and finally it came to pass the crypto market dumped massively beyond our wildest imagination, I think 99% of all crypto traders lost their money when the dump happened, if only you took your profit before the dump happened you wouldn't have lost all that money, the market seems bearish right now, I'm not so sure if you can recover everything this year, except you learn and start trading, although it's not certain you will earn from it because it's very risky you could still lose there.

My has been down for 3 days now his life saving all gone in futures, everything was liquidated he.doesn't even know where to start from.
My wallet is just dry like the dump made many of us start from beginning, even render some poor. But I know it's just time everything will come back to normal soon or later.

You will not lose your money as long as you do not sell it (panic sell), so my advice is that you better hold and wait until the market rises again, because this is a natural thing if the market is undergoing a correction, so this is an opportunity for you to buy more altcoin that you invest, because when there is another bull run (altseason), then of course you will get a bigger profit than before.

That’s not fair for you because the market didn’t turn against your will which you should always understand and its called risk. There’s no guarantee that you can get back that money this year but hopefully yes since you’re not the only one who loses the money here. This is a reminder that we should take profit as well, it could be a great idea right before the market dumps, this is a lesson learned for me as well.

I disagree with your statement "this is not fair". It's fair because the cryptocurrency market is volatile and risky, so no one can guarantee you a profit. Every smart investor should choose the right moment and the correct point to enter a trading position. If you bought coins before this bull run, you should have sold your Pancake, Ethereum and Cardano on any cryptocurrency exchange. By the way, I noticed that ADA did not drop as sharply as ETH.

I personally managed to sell some chunk of my altcoins at a high level. Trading is like a game. In any case, some holders/traders will win, others will lose. Figuratively speaking, learn to catch whales by the tail.

I mean that is just how the market works here in cryptocurrency, the market is really volatile and you can't complain about it since the market could pump easily.

If you think about it you could also earn that 8000$ in just a short amount of time, so when the market price is dumping that could also happen in a short amount of time.

Just some advice, you could sell some of your investment when the market price is high to make a profit because you cant really expect a cryptocurrency to just pump and pump to the moon which is a misconception for a lot of the newcomers since they don't have the experience to what happened in the past years on how the market circulate.

If you sold your crypto then you will lose what you have when you started holding crypto funds. If you did not sell your crypto funds yet then you can still recover the amount you have lose even if you might not earn profit. Situation like that happen when you bought crypto when the price is high and you sold yoir crypto when the price decreased.

You neglect and forgot the very important aspect before you go on cryptos, "invest what you can afford to lose" there's always a risk in trading, that's why I always suggest to look, stop and listen. We need to arm ourself with knowledge before we go through.

Yeah we're going down bad and if you're asking whether it's recoverable, maybe this year or maybe next year no one know for sure since most of us don't even know whether we're truly in bearish market or not since the market is just doing sideway while at the same time
we haven't experienced any correction after ATH until just now.
I personally would just hold the asset instead of selling it, by selling it means you  definitely losing your money but by holding it maybe for another years it could go back up but this is not financial advice nor you should ask some stranger for it. just make your decision yourself at this point, it's better.
