Ftx Exchnage login Probelm

Today i am not receiving my 2fa sms code on my mobile when i try to login on FTX exchange ? Is this a known issue and others are also having this issue ?

If the sms code does not come to my phone, how can i login my ftx.com account ?

I haven't experienced this on FTX Exchange, most of the time I tried to log in to their website, I got all the 2FA SMS code.

If you can't still get your SMS code, I think you need to contact their support.

This problem has a much lower chance of occuring when you switch to better 2fa method like software as there'll be no need to rely to service providers (yours + the exchange's). Most importantly, SMS is the least secure way to do 2fa for reasons such as they go around unencrypted, sim cards are easy to steal and operators have the ability to port your phone number into another SIM giving birth to sim swapping attacks, so you are essentially making your account more secure.

Next time use the 2FA authenticator app to get rid of this in the future.

Have you tried to log in through incognito mode? If not, try it, and maybe it's a browser issue, or try to login through their app https://ftx.com/apps

It seems it was some sort of delay issue at the mobile service provider end. I did not receive any sms code from ftx for last few days but today when i tried to login, i did receive the code and now i am able to login the ftx exchange.

That's a common issue even on another website. FTX exchange might have an SMS limit daily so maybe they already reach their SMS limit at that time.

If you don't want to experience this SMS verification issue as I said above better switch on any authenticator app. SMS verification is very problematic not only on exchanges but also on some other websites.

Yes, switching to google authenticator is much better option but why don't exchanges offer two 2fa methods at the same time. For example, if there is a option to use either SMS 2fa or google authenticator at the same time, so if one is not available , the person can login with other one Huh

Different method = different attack surface which means some offers better security than the other and this would be meaningless if it's also possible to generate an OTP thru a weaker point as hackers would target that instead, just like how it is with your example as software/app-based authentication offers better security than SMS-based.
