Hi There.

I bought SHIB on MetaMask BSC network using the contract address 0xf09a100c32d780f0a48754e43533f9fb374e85f9 shown on BscScan. I then transferred to Binance on SHIB BSC address shown. The TXHash shown successful transaction but I never received the token on Binance and they say I have used incorrect network. From BSC to BSC is what I transferred? Am I missing something here. I know SHIB is an ERC20 Token but since Binance showed the deposit can come through BSC is the reason why I bought from BSC network. Any help highly appreciated.

I tried to replicate your transaction but Metamask swap under the BSC network doesn't have Shib in their list of available tokens. It was only possible under the Ethereum mainnet.

What you bought was the ERC-20 and sent it to Binance using the BSC network.

Thank you for the quick reply but then, why does bscscan.com have listed the contract address for SHIB token and I can see 12k+ holders. If bscscan.com lists the token contract means, it supports the BSC network right?

^ I don't know what's with bscscan and if there is even a BEP-20 version of Shib. I'm only saying that what you bought on Metamask is the ERC-20.

Erc20 and Bsc20 are different networks but still in 1 wallet address, while the shib is on the ERC20 network ,, I suggest using 2 wallets in 1 address to differentiate from one another ,, by importing pharse or private key, for example 1 use a special metamask for ERC20 and 1 more using Trustwallet specifically for BSC20 ,,,

Where do you see that? i have tried to open the eth contract address of SHIB on bscscan and i find nothing about that.

Please follow below link. There is a separate contract address from BSC Network and that is what I used.

Contract Address for Coinmarketcap

0x95ad61b0a150d79219dcf64e1e6cc01f0b64c4ce

Contract Address for the BscScan

0x95ad61b0a150d79219dcf64e1e6cc01f0b64c4ce

Contract Address for the Etherscan

0x95ad61b0a150d79219dcf64e1e6cc01f0b64c4ce

As you can see we have the different contract address for BscScan and Etherscan and the same address with BscScan and Coinmarketcap and I have tried to add both contract address in the Metamask and in no success, the token is unsearchable maybe you would need to add the token to Metamask just like trust wallet, I have Shiba Inu on my Trust wallet and in my opinion, trust wallet is easier to use and to buy many tokens.

I did search the contract address you provided above and true coinmarketcap has only one contract address. But quite worried why there is a BSC contract address for SHIB 0xf09a100c32d780f0a48754e43533f9fb374e85f9. I don't think its a fake one either because I can see a large number of holders and multiple transactions.

In theory Binance could recover your token, since ETH and BSC use the same address format, but they never do this since it's very risky for them. I think this is a lost cause.

Be careful next time. Fantom, BSC, ETH and others shared similar address format (and there's probably). Make sure you use the correct network next time.

But quite worried why there is a BSC contract address for SHIB 0xf09a100c32d780f0a48754e43533f9fb374e85f9. I don't think its a fake one either because I can see a large number of holders and multiple transactions.
It's a fake one. Check the comments. https://www.bscscan.com/token/0xf09a100c32d780f0a48754e43533f9fb374e85f9#comments

Yes. I read the comments just now and it seems a fake. Too bad, there should a way of approving these tokens to be shown on these platforms.

This is the first time I am seeing a coin that is floating for both ERC-20 and BEP-20 I never really thought that is possible my Shib is ERC-20 and most of my coins in my trust wallet are BEP20, but this is really the first time seeing it, Maybe the transaction didn't reach the destination but apparently, no transaction is being lost with most of my transaction if the transact address is correct, maybe you should recall and check the history I don't know if this is the fault of the coin itself or on Binance part, or either it is within your part that you have done something wrong, I think this needs more research and explanation needed.

On the official Shiba website https://shibatoken.com/ there is only one contract on the ethereum network: 0x95ad61b0a150d79219dcf64e1e6cc01f0b64c4ce. So you can only buy a Shiba coin on the ERC20 network. Everything else you see that differs from the published contract is a scam.

If you go to bscscan.com and search for contract 0xf09a100c32d780f0a48754e43533f9fb374e85f9 there are large number of holders unknowingly that its not the original SHIB. There was only one ERC20 contract for SHIB. So, my SHIB's not reaching Binance is understandable.

Be careful. There are many fake smart contracts on Bsc. It's not the first time ethereum tokens have fake smart contracts on Bsc. In the telegram group that I follow, many people got scammed into buying Bsc tokens with fake smart contracts, whereas the token is only in erc20 ethereum network.

So you get scammed of it? At first time i read ur thread i think the problem is on memo or something like that. Feel sorry for you, this crypto is really like jungle, they will try to kill each other to get benefit of it.

If you want to buy any tokens ahead, you must verify the contract address of that token through official channels to save yourself from getting scammed in a way you didn't expect.
Please ask the Binance team through Twitter as they take actions when they are publicly asked for.

There is high chance that you have bought the wrong token and you have been scam. I don't think Shiba has a cross chain ability to switch between network. They were only launched on Ethereum as ERC-20 and that's what binance only support.
Perhaps, some scammers or smart people has take advantage of your ignorance about shiba and sold you the fake token.
You should try nd do proper research before you purchase any time that are listed on decentralized exchange because they can be listed by anyone and if care is not taken, you may ended up been scam.

Yes bro. It was a scam. I do my own research before buying any tokens. But for SHIB, I was quick to think there existed a BSC contract since Binance had it. But later, it worked as a bridge. Anyway, we should do a thorough research before committing to buy a contract. I lost few dollars but those are expensive lessons learnt.
