How important is it to have more than 10 connections to your node for solo mining? I recently switched internet providers, and my new provider only allows port forwarding if you have a static IP address. It's only $10 a month for a static IP, but if it's not necessary, I'd rather buy $10 more BTC every month.

Hello
I have Apolo2 standard unit. In winter I use standard mode, in summer eco mode.
Is there a custom mode "super eco" for summer (less heat)?

Switch it to manual then crank everything right down

@jstefanop, since the open source Bitaxe Gamma device is already using the Bitmain BM1370 (S21 Pro chip), are there any plans for Futurebit to release an Apollo model based on that ASIC? Would be great to see that efficiency in your standalone, quiet form factor. I loved both previous designs, Apollo and Apollo II, still using Apollo II to this day.
Any roadmap or technical hurdles you can share?

I need command for CLI

.\apollo-miner-v2.exe -host XXX -port 3333 -user XXX -pswd x -comport COM3 -powermode eco -ao_mode 1

For minimal power and hashrate, remove
Code:
-powermode eco
and put this instead:
Code:
-brd_ocp 30
That will give you stats like this:
Code:
Apollo Miner:
Hashrate: 3497 GH/s
Error rate: 96.8%
Power draw: 103 W
Power efficiency: 29 W/TH/s
Temperature: 56°C
Fan: 2220 RPM
Uptime: 5d:13h:37m
Process memory: 3.8 MiB
That's the minimum device can run at. Noise is minimal, I use it in the living room currently next to my computers.

P.S.
Efficiency is lower at -brd_ocp 30 than with eco mode.

Electricity from the wall / pool
-brd_ocp 3 125W / 3 THs = 41 W/Ths
eco mode 225W / 5,8 THs = 38 W/Ths

@jstefanop   Is futurebit working on any Lightning Node etures for the Apollo Nodes?

Focused on building the Solo Node/ Solo Pool features right now.

We have a lot of cool stuff we are working on in that department (friends and family pools, gamifying/paying out best shares etc)

While we could easily add lightning there are other node providers that have built out all of this way better than we could, and since we are focused on Solo mining I dont want to get into the multi app/services/bloatware since that could negatively impact chances of successfully mining a solo block.

Will probably remain laser focused on building the best home solo miner for the next few years, and once compute overhead/SBCs get even cheaper will re-evaluate if we want to add more apps.

(FYI nothing is stopping you form installing a lightning node on the current Apollo system)

Hello,

Why does the OS show different hashrates for the Miner and Solo Mining, shouldn't they be the same if the only thing running is Solo Mining? There seem to be different rates for "hashboards and for the miner.

Also, do I need to update Bitcoin Core Version to latest? Mine seems to be running 25 while current in 29.

Thanks!

This is something I never got to understand the how-to! Does it need to be done via CLI? What is the best implementation to install?

Another question: is the Apollo OS 2 compatible with the Apollo BTC miner?

Is there any way to remotely access the OS to monitor stats or to otherwise change settings? e.g., when traveling or away from home

If you have extra PC/Laptop which is connected to the internet and can be run 24/7 you can try Chrome Remote Desktop, which you can connect to through your mobile remotely.
Then access your PC/laptop on your phone and use the IP of the unit to access the dashboard. You can check its stats and change settings while you are away from your home.

I think you have to generate a link code locally to connect using Chrome Remote Desktop. Unless you're saying to do the connection first, then leave it on 24/7; not sure if the connection expires or has to be refreshed with a new link but will look into it. Thanks!
