College students can be messy, and when a bunch of them live together it can be troublesome to divvy up the chores. In this case, you can use bitcoins as a way of creating a micro economy of chore resolution in your house.
* Front the money, and buy everyone one bitcoin and set up their phone, computer, whatever to handle it.
* Have everyone add each other's addresses to their address books
* Every week have a reverse auction (bidding amount goes down instead of up) for the chores. The amount gets divied up, and everyone chips in to pay that person to do the chore that they "won" for the lowest price anyone was willing to do it.
* The person with the the most bitcoins is not allowed to take a chore (they get out of working for the week). This makes it so no one gets too "rich" and also makes it so everyone can pay in to pay the person doing the chore. The person with the least amount of bitcoins has to do their chore first (this way they can pay others to do their chores).
This could be a closed or open system. A closed system would mean that money cannot come from outside addresses. I might chose an open system, as it would bring more money into the economy and make everyone more wealthier. Chores could become a side job for an individual.
Limits on the number of chores, etc can be improvised in the house rules.
The local alcohol stores do not take Bitcoin, so this is pretty much a worthless cause.
Also no one in my fraternity who gets fined for not doing chores pays them anyways, no one cares, money isn't everything, and so on.
