Is rx580 GPU good option for building a mining rig? I mean a rig with 8x rx580 each good for future? Or better go for something like rx5700XT? Or the less power hungry rx5500 8x

What are your electricity tariffs?
At what price are you planning to buy these video cards?
If your electricity price is less than $ 0.08 per kilowatt, then any video card will bring profit.
rx5700XT have problems with overheating memory, so you need to buy the right model. The rx5500 8gb has a worse hashrate than the rx580

Wait till bear gets more stronger and hopefully gets rx580 around 200$ to 300$ per card, rx580 is still good, even the gtx1080 and 1070 are still good if you can get them dirty cheap, it all depends on your electricity cost, even better if you have free electricity or solar energy

Me too Smiley wattage and hashrate very similar to p series mining cards.
Even its turing it is just a joke from nvidia.I would accept these hasrates if it was 26mhs for 50watts

Energy saving wise rx580 isn't a good choice anymore, any GPU that do 30MH should be consuming around 70watts max and 60MH should be 140watts or so but rx580 consumes near 100watt or even more if you don't do extra tweaking, I know this difference using wattman meter

Gtx1660 Ti and Super are better option, even RX5700XT is 👍👍👍

I'm running on solar panels and I'm getting 1200 watts when sun is up for 9 hrs and also battery backup that can last me till the next day, I don't use grid at all, what about the Asus rx5700XT? There are two fan variants that are cheaper than the 3 fans variants

You are good go if you can find cheap gpus. if i were you i will wait little bit for prices go to normal. You have limited power so it will be good choice get low TDP gpus like 3060-3070.

Well it's a kind of gamble at this point. Nobody knows when the price will go to normal (if that ever happens). Some people predict that 2022 is probably when the market will get better. At that time, crypto market might changes a lot, either being more profitable or more bearish. So that's that.

yes i agree it is gamble it happen or not thats why plan B Smiley if market turn green again and there is no gpu then plan b is buy coins. in green market 1k coin will make much profit than rtx 3060ti mining all day months. i never paid overpriced gpu till now and i will not. why support those scalpers.

They are good if you already own the GPU, but if you are going to be paying more than MSRP when they were brand new in 2016 then you are better off buying something else. These RX470/480/570/580 8GB were all like $125 or so a year ago. People weren't buying them. ETH wasn't profitable.

Then when covid happened, and ETH started to go up in value they started to go up to crazy prices. There are people paying more for a used one than they were originally released for. If that is the case you should just buy something else. However, I think unless we start seeing negative profits on 10 kwh power costs, these GPUs are still going to be expensive.

For mining, it is better to buy a video card with more powerful cooling. Surpassing $ 100-150 for good cooling would be a good solution, you will lose more money due to downtime in the summer.
As a rule, ASUS fans work perfectly for more than 2.5 years. Further, the service center changes the cooling system to me under the warranty agreement.

Cases with air split is a nice decision if you cant find good cooling GPUs. I bought it - the price was about $100 per one. It is possible to pay $30 and get a solution to remove hot air from the mining location. Dust filter, powerful delta fans, rather compact. The only problem is fan noise.
