I hired soeone on Botcointalk to create a Bounty ann page. Usually designers would provide a BB code, but this designer gave me bunch of Imgur images - and now I do not know how to insert links there ( social media, registration, Signature code etc), I have already paid . Asked him to give me BB code - but he does not respond. Can anyone please advice if there is a way to edit those "imgur images"? If not  - how do I report him for not providing the service as offered. I have proof of payment and email communication. Not much money at stake, but time is lost , plus I would like to warn the community. Thanks!
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

If just an image you still put a link on that image you just simply put the IMG BBcode inside the URL BBcode.

Sample this code below

Code:
[url=https://bitcointalk.org/][img]https://i.imgur.com/9qcDCw1.png[/img][/url]

The result must be this

Point the mouse at the image when you click it you will redirect to https://bitcointalk.org/ you can edit it with your own image and URL.

Next time if you are going to hire someone always use escrow or hire a designer which is a well-known designer here on the forum. For now, this is the only option if you want to get benefits from those images but next time hire someone that knows how to code them in BBcode.

Wait a minute, your hired someone to create a bounty thread here. Was he/she able to deliver? Because if he/she did then the BB codes of all the images used on that page should be accessible by anybody. Can anybody post an image here without using BB codes?

As far as I know, a lot of ANN and bounty threads here use imgur images. There's no problem with that for as long as the images appear on the page properly bearing all the necessary information.

Also, what was your agreement? Was he/she hired for that page alone? Because if he/she was paid to make the bounty thread and he/she delivered fully, then it wouldn't be his/her problem anymore if you have a hard time creating materials for your social media, registration, signature codes, and so on.

Typos like these usually get me intrigued. Grin

So lucifer was the one who was hired to do this job?

But generally speaking, you should make it clear that the project was to be dealt with on Upwork. Hence this does not concern the bitcointalk Scam Accusations - in which you should lodge a complaint on Upwork or however they deal with such problems because I dont freelance and I have no idea how they function. Dont think anybody would be willing to support a flag against them without evidence from both sides.

Still you could withhold the payment till the work was complete, that usually the leverage on your side till completion, that was a mistake from your side.

Usually ANN threads can be prepared by putting these images one after another with the proper BB code. Take a look at this topic:

I wanted to work with Upwork but that is not what we agreed to. We used bitcointalk for communication and  I paid him via PayPal - so it has nothing to do with Upwork. Since he disappeared and stopped communication and left me with no option on how to insert links ( even thought it was part of what I asked - to add placeholders for links - I do not know how to use it. And before posting user;s name and actually making accusations I started this thread to see if I can somehow do it alone. The problem is that i the icon of Twitter is on the Imgur image along with the whole thread - I do not know ho wto add link behind that image. Since user is active daily on bitcointalk but ignores my questions and requests - I think it makes all of this unfair, He promised to help with links and got full payment

Can you specify to us that the contract was only for announcement thread design? Or the contract was including BBCODE's signature? If it was only for announcement design then nothing wrong with Imgur. It's enough to put all the designed images in Imgur. Actually designer should provide full design including links like website social media and so on. But for that, you should have a contract with the designer and should provide links. Before making an accusation you may share what was the real contract with the designer. Putting a link on the image isn't hard, but if you don't know it then instructions from Adobe. It should work fine.

How found this designer?
That's bad but since you paid him on PayPal you can still reverse the transaction and start a dispute.

If you don't know how to dispute the transaction check this link below.

How found this designer?
Probably @lucifur is the one who gets the job.

@op I think it relies on the initial agreement contract. If you specify the contract as specific as possible, and the designer breach or didn't get the job done. I'm sure you should make the accusation.

The problem is that i the icon of Twitter is on the Imgur image along with the whole thread - I do not know ho wto add link behind that image.
You said he/she sent you a bunch of images, what the other images he/she sent?
If the designer sends you multiple section/parted images you can arrange all the images into a full thread and set the specific link based on the images that are being used. For example on here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5277150.0, assuming that @lucifur is indeed the designer.

It looks like it's the promised after sales service that they failed to provide, then I don't understand what was so hard about typing a no more than 200 character tutorial or set it up themself which wouldn't take more than 10 mins... I doubt they don't know how to put a link within an image since they make signatures.

While I wouldn't say you were scammed (unless we're missing something), keeping one's word is vital when it comes to doing transactions. I say post your proofs op (blur every sensitive info) to strengthen your case and I'll inform lucifur about this thread so you can hear their side.

Hi, sorry, I haven't had much time online because of my recent work schedule in real life. Let me just explain my side. I did provided the right images and codes for the images as requested for a bounty thread and I got quite confused as to what he needed from me. He said that he couldn't add links and I provided an instruction on how he could do it. After a while he responded that he can't because I provided him with only set of pictures ( which is correct because I'm a thread designer). I eventually ask med for the links that he wants added and I added it myself to the codes I sent to him.

here's a preview of the thread I created for him: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5336735.msg57059596#msg57059596

If it's wrong, then I still don't understand what he wants. I really apologize for being inactive and thank you to mr. Potato chips for giving me a heads up about this thread. I wouldn't know that this thread existed if you didn't sent me a message.

Edit:

he specifically asked me to create more graphics instead of creating texts with bbcodes in the thread and that's why I ended providing him the bbcodes of the images that I uploaded in imgur. I'm even more confused now of what he wants from me.

Still, I am confused what was the contract between you and OP. If the problem is just about inserting links on the thread then I think it could be solved easily. No need for much more arguments IMO. But I am assuming since the thread was a bounty thread, then OP is looking for signature code. Was that on your contract? Or anyone from you can describe more what was the real commitment between you? If we don't know the real story, then we can't judge anything even you create a scam accusation. Hope the problem will be solved.

I hired a person to correct the issues I am having. I am not going to pursue accusations  of a designer, since I need to move forward, however it was very unethical from his side to commit to helping with the links, ( I have a this recorded in pm exchanges here on bitcointalk ) and then ignore me. Yes this is not scam since he provided smth - but this is far from a smoth exerience, and if you are paying for a job it is reasonable to experct it finalized in a scope that was agreed on. I emphasize that is was what we agreed for. So what I would do is warning others to delay payment util job is 100% complete

Both parties are saying different things... if you want to back your words, post proofs (e.g. chat logs) otherwise it won't hold weight, and people will more likely to be left confused.

Do you want me to post our communication here? You have not responded for over a week! You have been asked to provide placeholders - which you never did, after that you promised to add liks your self - I have been following up for a week and you never responded not via Bitcointalk, not via email.  All I am asking now is to delere my Bounty Thread from your portfolio pages  - I have paid for it, it is mine and I never give you permision to post it. It is not live yet and I do not want anyone to see it until it is live!

Here is one of the latest exchanges to which he never responded. I could post bitcointalk messages but he stopped responding so I can only show my messages https://imgur.com/a/A9jf0RQ this message was ignored as all the other follow ups via email and bitcointalk. Now he proudly posted this ANn thread everywhere even thouhg I asked to delete it since it is not even up - the fact of paying for it does not make it mine looks like. Great experience, what can I say...
