BTC mining through renewable energy sources is one of the most promising applications to foster economic growth in all places of the world. Particularly in rural areas and there were talks about how poor African countries that lack infrastructure for energy grids could attract investment into energy facilities engaging in BTC mining when there is surplus energy produced by those facilities. I think the biggest problem to set up those facilities in rural African areas with lots of sunlight is the security of those facilities. Building energy facilities must be done, but if energy consumption is too low, investments in facilities don't pay off. That's where the mining comes into play and could make investments be worth the risk when in times of low consumption BTC is mined instead. Could be done everywhere where sufficient security for facilities can be granted. El Salvador can do that.

I know that there are different opinions on Nayib Bukele and I think having discussions about politicians and their decisions is important, but some of the things he is doing can't all have been that bad.

Because Bukele understood that there is a difference between bitcoins and shitcoins, so why get distracted with scams if you actually understand what bitcoin is?  Including shitcoins into any El Salvador plan would have had been dumb and a distraction (and also would have shown that Bukele did not sufficiently understand what bitcoin is)... and so it should be considered a good thing that they/Bukele are/is neither dumb nor distracted into shitcoins.

But El Salvador is about to hold presidential elections, I am afraid that this project will not continue.

Do you really think the new president to be elected will not continue with the existing project? After Bukele has spent alot of money on the plant? I don't really think so. I think even if another president is elected he would still continue with the existing project because I know for sure that the project will have existing manpower or workers employed to control the facility. And that has also reduce unemployment rate for El savedor. So it will be unfair not to take over from the existing project.

I think the best thing that has happened to El Salvador is to make bitcoin there legal tender and they will never regret what dey have Done. After some years many country will try to mimic El Salvador. But by then bitcoin price would have been far far pump so high. I think it's time for many country to look into this project now, because bitcoin is only the hedges against inflation.
