Carlitos Rejala announces “important project” involving Bitcoin and PayPal in Paraguay. The Congressman says Paraguay needs to adapt to innovation and new technologies.  He wrote in him Twitter "El verdadero to the moon #btc & #paypal" , translation: "the true to the moon"

He announces it one day after El Salvador become the first country to make Bitcoin Legal Tender. Would it be a domino effect? Will other countries adopt Bitcoin in their projects too?

In my opinion, only some undeveloped countries will adopt Bitcoin in their projects as a way to protect themselves from the instability of their national coins. Developed Countries will resist and will attack hardly Bitcoin, once it would limit their influence on monetary policy.

Yeah,

Google translate:

Quote
As I was saying a long time ago, our country needs to advance hand in hand with the new generation.
The moment has come, our moment.
This week we start with an important project to innovate Paraguay in front of the world!

This is a development news. but we will have to wait. He need to pass bill in Congress, so it might take some time before Paraguay adopt bitcoin, but in any case this is welcoming.

However, I will disagree that developed countries are resisting bitcoin, in fact, Japan and Australia, two countries that have legalised bitcoin, is a developed nation. So it doesn't matter if countries is developed or not, it has something to do with the sitting government, whether they wanted bitcoin or not, @Hydrogen pointed out a good argument about it here.

While it is a nice gimmicky news grabbing headline, Bitcoin is not really an effective place for the average person in these countries to store money. There have been some accusations that the leader of El Salvador is becoming more authoritarian in his governance style, so things like this may just be a distraction while he consolidates power behind the scenes. There are lots of alternatives out there which have much greater circulation, lower fees and will be more useful as a cryptocurrency. Whether you like it or not, central banks need some sort of control over their currency otherwise outside forces can dictate their economic policies.

As with the other topic, it's important to stress it hasn't happened yet.  The El Salvador President has announced a bill, but the bill has not yet been approved.

Exciting times for bitcoin but it’s weird the price isn’t going up. There’s so much bullish news atm but we’re just going sideways & have been for a while. I guess we’ll break upwards soon, the market is just finding where it should be.

They have to adopt it. Countries that are adopting new modern technologies will emerge in the next years to come. Unlike the other countries that are not willing to embrace new technology and aren't open to it. They are being left behind with the technological advancement that's happening in the world and bitcoin and blockchain are a few of those that they have to adopt and embrace. With the support of the government of embracing bitcoin, next to it is how they're going to maintain its status, and hope that they won't amend anything in the future that shall put negativity on this news.

Only time will tell whether these will create a domino effect or not. If a government thinks that it will help them develop as a country and comes out with an positive approach then it is well and good.

In my opinion, only some undeveloped countries will adopt Bitcoin in their projects as a way to protect themselves from the instability of their national coins. Developed Countries will resist and will attack hardly Bitcoin, once it would limit their influence on monetary policy
Let the countries that are struggling with their economic situation adopt Bitcoin and if these countries that are struggling is able to overcome the present issues by using alternative payment methods then expect more countries to follow them as well.

Politicians aren't too different from popular businessmen entrepreneurs who are constantly talking about bitcoin on their social medias. Besides being a currency and a strong investment on long run, bitcoin has also became a tool for people capitalize more engagement on the internet. Some politicians started using bitcoin to promote themselves on the social medias, like businessmen have already been doing so far.
Due to the spot congressmen occupy I think they should talk about bitcoin seriously instead of only attempting to farm likes and shares. What important project is he talking about? How will it work on practice? What does a bitcoin adoption project has to do with a picture of the congressman displaying laser eyes? We need more seriouness... Let the jokes and the catchphrases for the clown Elon Musk.

It comes with time though, as we are in the social age, every politicians have this sort of media presence and updating what is happening in their country. Perhaps the congressman has taken advantage of the popularity of bitcoin, or maybe he is really serious of filing a bill later.

We can't really answer what projects are in the horizon, so your questions cannot be answered by this time. So let us give them some time, El Salvador, Paraguay and maybe neighboring countries will follow as well. And I will assume that he is all serious because he represent his country, and his tweet coincidence with the recent bitcoin conference wherein he is an attendee if I got it right.

The developed countries you are saying will still adopt BTC, they have more reasons to adopt BTC if they want to maintain their status because they meant to hedge against the depreciating fiat value. However, BTC is also in the bear market, it's like there is nowhere else to go. Every country I guess will lose money even the ones making BTC a legal tender. Unless BTC will just suddenly burst up.

I really hope good projects are being developed to increase bitcoin adoption among citizens who aren't familiar with crypto currency yet. Latin america as a whole will be highly benefited by this, since most countries there have weak currencies which don't stand against inflation for too long. Furthermore unemployment and lack of official jobs rates are huge.
If bitcoin can help these people finding online opportunities it will be already a wonderful help for their local economies development. However, it can happen only through a serious and dedicated approach from the government to its citizens.
