Recently, there was news that hackers have posted a huge database of 8.4 billion passwords on the Internet. This is the largest password leak in history. It turns out that only 8.5 billion of them are unique.
For your peace of mind, it is recommended to check your passwords at https://cybernews.com/personal-data-leak-check/

But, again, proceed at your own risk. Because re-showing your mail can also pose a potential threat to future hacks.

This is how the notification that the password has been leaked to the network looks like:

Thanks mate. Ive tried it and good thing I dont have active email that I am using now has been flagged with data leaked. Im sure many people are skeptical about this, I wonder how many emails got used on airdrops are probably leaked now. I have an email checked and using on airdrop and luckily its not flagged yet.

By the way how accurate this do you think OP?

There is always a central point of failure in password retention. When you use a unified password, the possibility of losing it becomes greater. When you use more than one password, you need to either modify a small part of it or have an application to manage all passwords.

In general, hacking attacks always have an economic motive, so spend more time in protecting all your important accounts, especially those that hold personal or financial data, instead of relying on centralized services.

It is actually a number of 82 billions, of which about 10% is reportedly unique. I don't think it's anything new, because this whole database has been linked to hacking since 2011 and most of those passwords aren't used anymore anyway.

The golden rule when opening an account, registering on forums and social networks or crypto exchanges is that you have a separate e-mail with a unique password for each account. This may seem a bit complicated, but just one email and one password associated with all your online activities in case of hacking means a real nightmare.

I would like to ask if it's cool to use 2FA with your email logins because there are few extra security that Google team provided to secure your account and this is one of them

Will do it later when I'm in my Laptop for more safer checking.

Just make sure that you will keep safe the 2fa .

Never reuse passwords, and do change them from time to time. A password manager such as KeepassXC is your friend, the password for the manager itself should be good and changed periodically. And avoid unsafe operating systems, use Linux or BSD.

With an unsafe OS you could have a malware silently capturing your keystrokes and sending screenshots of your desktop, etc. If you still don't use Linux, switch today, before its too late...

Yes.

Not just for your exchange and wallets but in almost every important account that you use online, you can use 2fa.

Damn!!!! I'm actually heading home to move all my money to my ledger. I've been really lazy to do that. Damn! Still prefer Earnbet casino login type with my WAX account. Takes things up a bit. And that's the way it should with platforms.

Definitely moving all my monies to my ledger Nano S

We haven’t found your data among the leaked ones.

Looks like I'm among the lucky ones. For now.  Wink

There is also a "Have I Been Pwned" website which is also good for checking leaked databases. This one includes the famous Ledger data breach that exposed over 1 million email addresses and many names, physical addresses and phone numbers.
