Recently, there was news that hackers have posted a huge database of 8.4 billion passwords on the Internet. This is the largest password leak in history. It turns out that only 8.5 billion of them are unique.
It is actually a number of 82 billions, of which about 10% is reportedly unique. I don't think it's anything new, because this whole database has been linked to hacking since 2011 and most of those passwords aren't used anymore anyway.
The golden rule when opening an account, registering on forums and social networks or crypto exchanges is that you have a separate e-mail with a unique password for each account. This may seem a bit complicated, but just one email and one password associated with all your online activities in case of hacking means a real nightmare.
