The literal collapse of a power grid because bitcoin mining exceeds the safe capacity of that specific power grid,
is the ultimate danger to all people on the same grid.

If their is a heat wave or subzero temps and multiple bitcoin mining operations,
their is very little wiggle room as excess power capacity is now gone.
At best this means rolling blackouts to preserve the power grid from being fried.

There are miners mixing the source of electricity for mining but it's still unclear how many percent is renewable and non-renewable. There is a Bitcoin Mining Council formed recently to address these issues so just wait for their report.

The fact is most of the things poses a threat to the environment. Microplastics in your toothpaste or even the small plastic bag that we get from wallma often..be it cars or be it big companies making necessary products. The whole concept of nonveg meal and even a simple milk. Exactly,  there are no such mining farms in the world right now as we have many factories scattered all over the world with the constant population they generate on a daily basis both on air and sea, chemical spills and disposal of toxic waste into the atmosphere possess a more dangerous situation to the human health, why nobody is paying attention to that,

There is no threat coming from bitcoin mining, LOL, it just began like 10 years ago and now they are saying that it has a dramatic effect on global warning and environment issues. Bitcoin is not the culprit here, many industrial nation since the 1900 has really contributed to the worsening and increase of the earth's temperature. I am still thinking it's very safe to mine bitcoin in the year 2050! Look around you, notice what machines are running 24x7 from Sky scrapper tower cooling system to Cloud Storage facility of giant companies like Google, Amazon, IBM, TCS everyone use the electricity. The cost of them is many times more than the Bitcoin.

I am mining the crypto as well and with two average rigs using 1.8 kw of energy while the room air conditioner itself use around 0.9 kw of energy (single). Just imagine what it takes to cool the whole sky scrapper and how many of them are there?

Energy consumption isn't equal to environmental pollution.The problem is that the coal burning power plants are polluting the environment,not the crypto miners.

Energy consumption isn't equal to environmental pollution.The problem is that the coal burning power plants are polluting the environment,not the crypto miners.
Even if all the cryptocurrency miners in the world stopped working forever,the coal burning power plants will keep producing energy,by burning coal and therefore polluting the environment.

If they comply with all the environment-friendly regulations just as Greta Thunberg and Elon are asking I think it wouldn't hurt the industry but will give everyone a chance to be in the crypto space.
