ELECTRUM USERS/ANYONE w/ any KNOWHOW/electrum transaction not going through

I have having trouble with my electrum wallet. i was using the same seed, but the actual address changed on me. I have an unconfirmed transaction where "x" amount is being paid out and "y" I am tryin to send back to another wallet for my change... I do not understand, Signiing, broadcasting these payments....PLEASE HELP....

In your Electrum transaction details (right click>View Transaction), the two outputs should be colour coded. One of them is Yellow in colour and that should be your change address.

If that is the case, then there is nothing to worry about. Electrum sends the transaction to a different address for the change.

is there an issue when you created a transaction or are you trying to create a transaction that has a custom change address?

Also, that first part seems like an entirely different issue.
If you mean the address in the receive tab, that's normal when you've already used the "actual address";
Electrum will give you a new address after the previous one was used, but it's still in your wallet and useable if you wish to.

There's no form in the Electrum GUI that lets you input an arbitrary address to use as a change address. If you want full control over where the change is sent, you have to open the Coins tab and use coin control to select an input that's big enough to cover the payment by itself, and then use the Tools > Pay To Many feature to send the remainder of that input to an arbitrary address as a normal output. Then there won't be any "change" left to send to the usual Electrum change addresses.

When you make a payment with bitcoin, in most cases your transaction will have two outputs. The first output is the address you want to send the payment to and the other output is your change address.

If you want to make sure every thing is correct before you broadcast the transaction then click on "advanced, double check that the receive address (in green) and the amount are correct then you can safely sign and broadcast the transaction. You don't have to worry about the change address (in yellow) because Electrum generates it automatically and calculates the change amount you should get back.
If still in doubt and want to make sure the change address is indeed belongs to your wallet, click the "addresses" button and scroll down and you will see it's listed there.

I think he might be sent a transaction, but it still unconfirmed. He talks about the X amount sent to the destination address and the "y" is the remaining amount that sent to another/change address.

@must_b_early if you can post the transaction ID here maybe we can analyze if what happen to your address. There are sometimes the transaction not confirmed due to the low fee. If you have an unconfirmed transaction the only way to solve this is to increase the transaction fee if the transaction is RBF enabled.

The other thing that I understand is that you tried to make a transaction but it was sent to another address that you don't own?
If that's the case, you might be a victim of a clipboard virus or use a fake Electrum.
