Does anyone know of a colocation hosting company that sources electricity primarily from renewables (please don't say El Salvador)?

I am looking for a colocation facility, but am finding it difficult to identify who is greener than others.  Any insight?

There are some but they want a MOQ of 100 rigs or 100Mw, which I am not scaled for that yet.

Suggestions or insight?  Thanks in advance,

Tsub

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Nordic countries like Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway have most of their energy coming from renewable sources, and other European countries like France have many nuclear plants if you consider that a green energy.
South American countries like Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Uruguay have very high percent of renewable energy and almost 100% of electricity produced in Uruguay are coming from renewables.
However situation with this renewables is not so black and white as you may think, and production of solar panels and lithium batteries is creating big pollution and destruction of natural water sources.

Agreed, we are primarily focused on Hydro and Wind, not solar (I agree that making them may be more harmful than alternatives).

Any recommendations on hosting companies?

Yes, environmental footprint of energy sources can be better controlled at country scope rather than on company scope.

Agreed, but I called a whole bunch of hosting companies in Iceland and they are full with more capacity being brought online in December 2021.

I settled on locating in the middle of "wind country" in the central plains of the US.  I will settle with "mostly wind" just out of practicality.  Given the shift in Chinese miners, all available capacity seems to have instantly vanished.

Thanks for the insight!

We own facilities in a country where electricity source is mainly hydropower and the price is  0.1usd/kWh .
We’re starting operations over there .
We could find an agreement for the use of the facilities .

Mining is an economic activity and to be profitable, the source of energy you get must be cheap, in addition to many other factors.

There is nothing in the universe that gives you the privilege of mining Bitcoin using renewable energies or using fossil fuels. Therefore, you must develop a detailed plan that is more than just enthusiasm and drive to know the countries.

The term renewable energies is also loose and you need to define the sources that are truly green.
