I reckon the best cryptocoins to buy as long term investments during bear markets might be those exchange utility tokens like FTT and BNB. Exchanges always collect revenue in bull and bear markets and this gives the tokens some fundamental backing. Also, the utility of those tokens in their corresponding exchanges create a demand for them.

I doubt whether these exchange utility coin will survive a market correction, i know very well that BNB went down when the market went down because i was providing liquidity to some projects and i purchased them when the market was riding at an all time high valuation and when the market went down BNB went down along with the market, so it is not the best coin to hold during bear market, i will be holding only in stable coins or in Euro.

I should think during a bear market all coins are usually affected and if we are to capitalize on the situation then coins that were doing fine before all this happened are the ones to invest in, but am not saying target the top 100 coins, no...target those with big communities that can easily be pumped, and you can see some profit.

The bear market is so near to us and we can see that most cryptocurrencies have already started decreasing. It is also a chance for us to make some decisions for the future,  investing in older projects is a better idea than investing in new projects, that is why they are more safety than new currencies and riskless. However, during a bear market l think top altcoins have more potential than other projects and for this reason, we should focus on these currencies. But there are also some potential projects, if you spend enough time you can find the best one for earning money in the bull run.

I believe it is best to invest in top cryptocurrencies in the first place. As the last growth showed, all the top 100 coins showed excellent growth. Moreover, there is a high probability that the main growth will occur at the end of 2021, and many cryptocurrencies may show even greater growth. As for exchange coins, it is difficult to say whether they will grow or not, but if they have now significantly reduced their prices, then yes, there is potential for growth.

The bear market is the best time to be in. As for the top altcoins worth holding for the long term are ETH, LTC, ADA & XRP. My bags are now packed with these incredible coins.

I also acquired some of Stakenet's XSN along the way. I'm extra bullish on this one. With the amount of developments currently taking place on this project, I've got a feeling it will going to soar big time in the coming months.

Most of the top altcoins are good to hold and will definitely recover from this drop but the most important thing I have observed here is that the price with BTC pair for the top alts haven't been shaken yet.. so buying them in the usdt pair, might be profitable in the future..

Yes the top coins are certainly much safer so I don't think there is anything to worry about,
but by looking at the current conditions everyone is waiting for when the market can recover soon,

During bear market (before sideways market starts) you are best to hold only stable coins like USDT and wait for the bear market to end. When a sidewards market begins you can start to buy back your coins and tokens fast at a low price.

You don't understand what op is trying to explain, everyone knows stable coins are good coin to buy and hold during bear market period, now that every coins are falling there are some specific coin that had fell slightly with little percentage, you know that? I don't think it's a clever idea to hold altcoins during bear market. Especially when you don't know where the dip is. The most logical way is to buy and hold some major altcoins weekly or monthly, don't go all in.
I prefer to hold majors like BNB, XRP, TRX, SOL, CHZ etc. and always have some BTC in my portfolio. Holding other than major altcoins, like low marketcap coins is too risky and you might lose all of your money. Don't gamble with your hard earned money to buy shitcoins hoping for a couple of x returns. Research teams first, read whitepaper, check what's their real world use, get some knowledge and invest wisely.

In the current market conditions, we should not take risks by investing in new projects, which does not yet have a good track record. So I agree

Try to put some bag on some PoS coins, the last issue for Bitcoin is a environmental energy friendly.
So, the good news in the next altseason could be from the Environmental Friendly Coin like PoS coins.

As I survived through many different bear market I am very sure about Ethereum, BNB and Uniswap as their power not only coming from them being popular coins but also opportunities they give people. I plan to buy and hold these coins. I may only add Solana and Cake (Pancakeswap) to this list I peersonally like these coins.

Well, I don't think there's any altcoin one can hold during bear market that won't drop in their price even though it's little except usdt, usdt is a stable which we all know already, if anyone wants to retain the usd value of their assets during a bear market, I think is very wise to put the money in usdt, but some people like my self still would prefer to hold their coins just the way it is even though they are watching it shed a lot of blood, this kind of persons don't really bother cus as the market is going down, they see this as an opportunity to buy more so as to bring their average buying price down.
Conclusion is alot of people have different ways and where to put their altcoin in times of a bear market, it all depends on the person's level of risk.

I'll choose BNB over XRP but you're right that they're on the momentum. An issue is being dealt by XRP and still it had maintained its position after dropping a lot but still I won't choose it.

Pick BNB already good. It is a good coin but as long you buy it in low price. I think don't be hurry into altcoins and save fiat is good thing to do, when market look in a good condition to buy, then buy potential or maybe top coinmarketcap coins.
