Merits are given if the community thinks you deserve merit; and it sure does come naturally if you actually know a lot concerning Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. And if you're coming here to Bitcointalk with little to no Bitcoin knowledge and you're immediately rushing to earning money, then chances are you're going to fail painfully.

What's the purpose of you achieving a higher rank on this forum? Is it primarily to enable you to participate in campaign signatures? If that is the case, then chances are you are not going to rank up.

In order to rank up, you need merits that people would commend you on the threads that you post. If you mindlessly post about nothing but nonsense or spam in the forum, then I doubt you'll ever receive one. Remove that mindset of ranking up and instead, focus on creating useful threads that will benefit the community. The more you think about actual contribution, the more that your post quality will improve.

If you are here to learn, then welcome. My advice is to read a lot before posting. If you read as much as you can, then you will be better informed and people will find your your posts to be more beneficial, and you will earn merits.

On the other hand, if you are here only to make money by posting, then you have come to the wrong place.

Look like you have come at the wrong forum. This is not a job forum where you will get paid. I know people are earning from posting here but trust me if you only look on how to get merit, rank up and earn from campaigns, you will end of getting nothing.
If you are good poster, if you contribute the forum you will gradually rank up and also get selected in good campaigns but remember again this is not a Job platform.

You can be high rank here when you can gained a lot of merits and acitvity. Merits are given to post or response with a good content and quality topics. If you want motivation then you can simply check some of those quality topic here on bitcointalk.

Pay you means on signature right. Actually this should be on the least priority  when you planning to stay longer here cause most chances of ranking up fast is based on quality post and not on report link from bounty and authentication post.

If you want to rank up, make yourself useful. The forum wasn't intended to be seen as an avenue to make money but from their current features, I think they're ok with you getting rewarded as you engage in everyday discussion on the forum, provided you don't abuse the privilege of wearing a signature, the forum won't be against you earning here and to increase your chances of earning a decent amount, you need to be ranked high (that's if you're basing the earning on just signature participations).

Excluding signature campaign, there are various ways that you can earn leveraging the forum which involves using your skills. To increase your chance of ranking up, you have to change your mindset. Instead of wanting to take from the forum (through spamming for few bucks), develop interest in giving to the forum, either through contributions to quality discussion ongoing or starting one yourself through educative/informative threads.

We can only give you advice, you'll have to motivate yourself, make yourself useful to the community and you'll be rewarded for your usefulness and when you do get what you seek for, don't abuse it.

The first thing you should do is change your perspective of this forum. Let go of that mindset of ranking up and instead focus on providing helpful posts that benefit the community.
I advice you to read a lot about crypto first. Learn about the community and the industry. Participate in discussions rather than just asking questions. A lot of people here are great and will provide helpful information. Ultimately, that should be what matters most, not your rank.

If you contribute to the forum you will earn some merits and gradually advance.

There are a lot of members who comes with the merit system exist but most of them conquer the merit requirement to get their desired rank and one of these is me. If you want to earn merit why not start with your local because sometimes they are the ones who can give you too much confidence because you cope with each other. Also, try to observe the posting style of another member how they get merit depends on the quality and being helpful to other members. Try to share your knowledge and contribute to the discussion that might help the other members of the community. Most of your contents are just more on asking use that information given to you

The "easily" part, if left in, probably leads to a dead-end. It’s not an easy feat, although for some people it’s going to be natural to their habits and abilities, which for them may be seemingly easy, but not for the average Joe. Regardless, time and dedication are essential factors to begin with.

Having said that, it’s probably good to take a look at those that, starting off as newbies (just to equate their starting point to yours), reached one of those high sought ranks:

34 Legendries, 57 Heroes, 84 Sr. Members and 240 Full Members (if we stretch over to mid-ranks) is a pretty small overall collective. Looking over their posting history should probably be suffice to see what sort of posts they made, which should answer the question (dropping, as mentioned, the easy component).

It's obvious most people are against the fact that he asked such question,on how one can rank up,get merits and so on.I personally think the question is not bad,but the manner the question is asked,makes it look as if he joined the community to earn merits and get to higher rank,and if that's his mindset,I doubt him progressing rapidly in this community.But if the question is asked for him to learn,get experience from other people's post, I think we should be a little bit nice to him.Its not a crime he asked a question.

I honestly don't agree with your viewpoint here OP. We're not the ones that should make you want to climb higher in the ranks - that should be your own determination and judgment to be honest with you. If you lack the motivation / determination to climb the "ladder" why would you we, a bunch of random John Doe's, try to motivate you?

The sheer quality of users contents/posts made here (and the ones that do continue here daily) are being produced / made solely because we have a really good base of passionate users that like to share news / ideas regarding crypto / Bitcoin whenever they read them elsewhere - be it on Reddit, local news station, on the supermarket etc ... And then that same passion is rewarded - either by people recognizing you more and more in the forum and by also awarding people with merits just to let them know that their opinion/point of view mattered to someone. If this doesn't entice you enough, then I'm afraid we can't help you more OP.

If you're just here to climb the ladder until you're able to take part in campaigns then you might as well forget it - you'll soon find that the system tries really hard to prevent that kind of "activiy" and I'm sure you'll also realize it sooner or later.

This community ranking up is step by step it does not come fast and easily, so ranking up here is base on your positive posts or comment in the community via newly innovation that will yields solution or contribution for betterment of the community or cryptocurrency, and when this trying to occur via rank up it normally accompany with what we call merit, and merit is evidence to show that your response is positive or personally encouraging to the forum, but note that is not every one will like your comment, its base on individual to award a post merit.
